Shame but surely a confidence boost.

Wasn't there tonight, but it is another encouraging performance (but again ultimately didn't yield a win!!) and something new tried-out on the pitch that accomodated Ellis, Charnock and Robertson in their favoured roles.
Disappointed we lost (purely from a financial point of view!!) but it sounded like we had enough chances to net winners. Too bad, but not too disheartening.

Phew......................another Wembley rip off avoided! Three games unbeaten now, something positive to take to Notts on Sunday, will Bucks play the same formation?

Well no shame and we did well and the boys can hold their heads up for giving Southampton a good fight, Thompson sounds to have had a good game as did Rendell, Ellis defended well.
We can go to Notts with no fear and might just get the win in the league the effort the boys have put in lately deserve.

Missed a couple of sitters, by the sound of it, though. As others have said, never mind, encouraging performance and possibly we have found a formation suiting our strengths.

The bottom line is that we could not defend a 2 - 0 lead away from home. We need to wise up and quick. I doubt the players will be as encouraged as some of us appear to be. It would be totally different if we came back from 2 - 0 down but we didn't. I could not give a monkeys for unbeaten runs. I am no maths genius but (in league matches obviously) 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat would be better than an 'unbeaten run' Tonight, that last win seems even further away. I am not usually so negative but I feel we could be in danger of meandering back to where we just came from.

nigep, we won't be going back down so don't worry about that If we had lost two nil, then fans would have said it was the result they would have expected, as it was we got a bit lucky in the first half and found we were wining by two goals. It did sound we played much better in the second half, working hard to close Southampton down and should have taken one at least of some good chances we created in the second half. Steve Breed did say that Bevan was not coming off his line as he should have to take some of the crosses and to be fair Southampton have some very good players, so they were always likely to score a few goals themselves.

Gutted at moment but some positives...... pissed off to be still in the queue for a ticket and missing nearly 10 mins of the game
