A competent manager would also make us competitive in playoff games if we did scrape in.In two games time, it may well be too late!
We really do need somebody to appoint a good manager (many work for expenses only at the lower levels in exchange for the chance of a platform to demonstrate their skills) who can stop the rot in this football team. Undorfuntatly, I really don't think Downes is the answer, in fact I think he is a major part of the problem. But I will be ecstatic to be proved wrong.
I'd agree with you under normal circumstances but if the club is having to save every penny, it seems pointless paying an additional salary if there are senior pros like Downes/Moxey/Hall about, to run things until the end of the season.
We are in the relegation mix but if we manage to retain our players, enough are back from injury, to which it should mean we are less bad than the four at the bottom. Then if by some miracle the club is saved or TUST is able to take it on, at least we are in the NLS with one level less to climb. But in the scheme of things, even that almost seems unimportant; it's whether we will have a club or whether we will have the ground should a phoenix club need to come into fruition.
Rumours of Peter Masters lurking in the background, do not fill me with any sense of long-term hope.
