Andy and Merse I have read your views on why a club would be better in a proper built up area, you have explained about Arsenals ground and I take your point, but I still would like to know why Merse thought it a great idea for TUFC to move to the Rec site, that goes against all what I'm being told, is the reasons we should stay at Plainmoor.

If you're up again, get in touch Barton; that's my " 'hood" Sounds a good idea, Merse. Nothing on the agenda yet but, as my travelling companion will have less commitments soon, I'm sure we'll be on the lookout for a few midweek "specials" (these can vary from the Champions League to the Welsh League Division 3, mind you). Arsenal is a good one because we'd park at Acton Town and take the tube straight there. Worked a treat last time.

Darlington is possibly the most interesting of the lot; I found the whole experience of going to the new TFM/Reynolds/whatever it is called now Arena a completely different one to visiting the old ground, so handy for the excellent pubs of Darlo's main thoroughfare. Now all you get is one huge pub on the other side of the roundabout from the ground, albeit serving good beer and food, and some huge empty car parks for a ground that is never going to be more than 25% full unless the team goes up at least one division. And that ground is not even THAT far out of town!! Absolutely spot on. If you've not been to Darlo you wouldn't know it was one of the most rewarding of all football trips. With friends in "The North" I must have been there a dozen times. The Feethams was a loss...
