Welcome to bbcgull's Prediction League Cup. This is the 4th year i have run this and the 3rd on Torquay Fans Forum : so many thanks to Dave for allowing me to host this again....
The rules are different from the league so here is what i am looking for...
I am wanting you guys and gals to ENTER this competition so you must register your interest in this thread. EVEN if you are NOT in the League or you think its too late to join the league (still join its all good fun)
Basically after FA Cup 2nd Round Day the draw is made for the 3rd Round, 64 places. Now last year we had about 35 entries so there were some byes in the first round.
As you register your interest you will be given a number in the order you showed you interest lol... ie
01 bbcgull
02 Dave
03 kipper
04 rivieralou
and so on...
SO on the day of the draw for the THIRD round of the FA Cup on 27th November you can tune into the telly and watch as your number gets drawn out fo the hat (01 - 64) ie...
01. 04 v 02 rivieralou v Dave
02. 03 v 01 JimD v bbcgull
Now the FIRST number in that is of course the order in which they were drawn out. ie 4 & 2 came out first THIS number signifies your draw number for the next round!!! This may all sound confusing but it is very simple and alot of fun as i do ALL the work all you have to do is register now and predict at the time, 12 matches and its a head to head - highest score goes through. Draws will be sorted by most 3's then 1's just like the PL.
As i always mention every year...I must thank (although they may not see it) Gulliball, rivieralou & Dawlish_Gull for their help at the start and rivieralou continues to help in the last three years on here years, you know what part you played and as a fair man i want to name check you.
Please, if you were in it last year please tell the others how much fun it was and created some damn good banter. All Rounds will take place on FA Cup Saturdays starting with the FIRST ROUND on 3rd Round Day on January 8th (draw straight after again).
You may think 27th November is ages away and im starting this early but believe me it needs a good amount of pre planning to get the numbers in.
So any questions pleas eask away and if it does not make sense now dont worry. Just register and leave the rest to me.!!!...just post and say 'im in!' I will leave this as an announcement til 28th nov if thats ok Dave....and remember NON LEAGUE PLAYERS WELCOME some even got to the semi finals last season. if you dont have the time or dont want to do the PL every week here is your chance to join the Cup! If we can get 64 that would be perfect. Do join the league to tho hehe!!! Please do also let me know if you are a Non League Player as it creates interest. For instance last years title was won by a non league player, kipper.
Please note i am looking for 64 players... sadly year one was 31 and year two was 30 which led to the cancellation of the 1st Round as it would be sill yhave 34 byes in round 1!!! Please bump up the numbers. I fear that if qwe dont get over 50 i may make this the last year but we shall see. As riviera and i can vouch it is hard work and it is demoralising to have limited interest.
