Mine is from Mr T ... a username I use on another site. I'm not a big black dude with a mohican haircut and loads of gold chains. I simply have a surname starting with T lead to some friends nicknaming me Mr T or T.

Please name that Japanese film, I'm intriged.
Whether Girl? Either girl? Leather girl? Why a gull?
Anyway Chips - Exeter fans on 606 always call us Chipnickers so your forum name is great irony. A guy on 'you've been framed' had his cornish pasty nicked by a gull. What would that be? Strange foreigners-food-nicker? Actually I like Ginsters but I try to hide it.
Oh and by the way, I'm Midlands only cos that's where I moved to through work and other things. I have been known to use my real name when writing to the HE TUFC website reports. I used to back Alan m up against the ranters. I think he's a lot more polite when posting his views to HE than on here!
I'm considering changing to grumpy_old_ginger_tosspot. How does that sound?

Good memory there Brett, strangly enough though, I was delighted to took to them when first suggested, mind, thats not what the letters stood for according to your colour man "the Rev" when he was in the como box with you. One odd snippet from way back to add is that the name gull was first started by Dayle Burton when he moved to Burbank California late last century (always wanted to say that, looks so long ago) and called himself "burbankgull"

What did 'The Rev' say the letters stood for???
They were good times in the commo box with Hughes. For those who don't remember or know, Richard was at the time doing the Gullsworld match write ups and joined me as my right hand summariser during my comms. As you can recall no doubt, we used to keep broadcasting at thalf time but i would hand the mic over to a weekly guest "Gull" - I remember briefing Shawgull to not swear. And he swore! I remember leaving the comm box and interviewing hilly WHILE he was warming up to come on LIVE, predating Setanta by years lol. I remember Lyongull calling the club from France during my first ever comm and telling us he and all the worldwide gulls, could hear us loud and clear, it would be taken for granted now but back then this was new. This then led on to me accepting and reading texts from Worldwide Gulls during the matches (no the non discript type Radio Devon would do nowadays)..i still say i was the pioneer of this back in 2001/02 ahead of RD by at least two years.
yes i had good times IN the Yahoo Cyber Terrace too, great days. I think i met burbankgull back in 2003? at the third Nettist match not 100% sure though, other greeat names form those days on the Cyber Terr..Tokyogull, Ozgull, Mervo, Ohiogull RIP.. in fact i could go on and miss to many people out.
I also remember when we had a gmae postponed last minute...myself and Mervo doing a 'Radio Show' for 90 mins - not sure if you were online for that Gray? I think this was the one where Mervo phoned Sid James Park and took the piss out of them nicely, to be fair the Secretary was so sweet about it and took it in a good way.
..the great cyber chant... Give us a T, and because we were all at different speeds slightly some letters would be out of sync.. leading to 'What have you got?'..... 'Torrqruquayuyuuuuuy'
Great days...

Brett,
Cheers for that post - brought back a lot of memories of the Yahoo cyber terrace (did you know it is still going strong now - albeit with slightly less people in it)
Ohiogull (RIP) is STILL on my Yahoo friend list - it was around about this date that he sadly died. I was honoured to have known him (though never met him) and whenever he was online he would always chat via Yahoo.....his love of the Gulls shone through, and he was always interested to know about any potential new signings etc. He was a person who never saw bad in anybody, or anything and would have been the last person to get onto the managers back, often defending Wes (as it was back then) when others where giving him flack.
He certainly taught me a lot back then about how to respect other peoples views and opinions, and how to see good in people. I am not ashamed to say that I shed a tear when I heard of his passing...I remember it like it was yesterday - I was in Canterbury at the time at a friends house having travelled there from Ashford where I was training at the PTC there (no longer there now!) and logged onto the forum to see that Steve's family had logged on to tell all the global gulls about his sudden death.
Typing this now has made me realise how much of an impression he made on me, and how much he is missed. There are few people like Steve, but he certainly made an impression on those that knew him.

So very true Scott and he is still on my list too. a fitting tribute to the man who i never met either but have the same views as you. It really was a sad moment when i heard his passing.
I agree with your last sentence and am honoured to have known him too.
Have voted for your post because it bought a lump to my throat.

Post by David Graham's Eighth Pint on Oct 21, 2008 16:13:58 GMT
My last name is Perry so my friends all used to call me Den after Den Perry in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights.
I chose David Graham's Eighth Pint because I fancied something mildly humorous and he is a bit of a hero of mine (on the field, obviously).
