Ok, for those unable to understand French (or Guernsey French) it means the following:
Sarnia Cherie. Gem of the sea. Home of my childhood, my heart longs for thee. Thy voice calls me ever, forget thee I'll never, Island of beauty. Sarnia Cherie.
It is the Guernsey National Anthem (only sung when Guernsey is represented as a stand alone island - on all other occasions the Great British National Anthem is sung) - hence when Andy Priaulx won the World Championship three times in a row God save our gracious Queen was played, and not Sarnia Cherie, but during the commonwealth games, and the island games Sarnia Cherie would be sung.

No worries - like you I am proud of where I come from, and where I have been brought up all my life - I am a very passionate Guern, who would defend this beautiful island forever!

Looks like we will have a vast number of byes in Round One..dont worry guys you can still predict on the day just for fun!! This will mean quite a few byes in the 2nd Round draw too... who knows some predictors like one last year may not even play a tie til the Quarter Finals!!!
Well Done to all the members who have entered so far. Competition entry closes midday on 29th. I think the draw is on the 30th.
