Hitler, of course, is not fondly remembered in Newport. County had just won promotion to Division 2 when war broke out. A win, a draw and a defeat in their first three games at that level....then the balloon went up. With the resumption of football hostilities after the war, Newport went off the boil and promptly finished 22nd out of 22, never to compete at the second tier again. I don't give a monkey's about Newport, but I do know that the mighty TUFC had a major Cup Final to play until Adolf wrecked things for us - a point that Gilbert H-R sadly underplayed in his analysis of the major consequences of World War 2. He won't be getting a memorial bench.

Goals 1-0 half time Buckland John Rimmer, Marc Revell 2-2 5 mins from time Hamworthy last 2 mins winner The guy who got a red on Sat got two more yellows tonight and then the red what a nutter 10 mins from time.
Buckland gave a great account of themselves and i am very proud of them. Thanks for the coverage and support onthe TFF CHEERS Dave. lots of people saw your photos and thought they were A1

Thanks bucklandgull, for the update, a real shame but I'll be over to watch a few more games this season. No real surprise the nutter got sent off, you could see what a temperament he had in the first game.
