I love the Linny, always get some decent grub there. Think I would have had roast potatoes myself with that! Roast Potatoes with pie, next it will be cream on first!

I think the next venue is the Barn Owl - home of the small pie. Date & time tbc - perhaps after the first home game? Good thinking, Chelston, I'm up for that. Anybody else?

Roast Potatoes with pie, next it will be cream on first! If you think that's ridiculous some idiot was on here earlier suggesting new potatoes. How about dauphinoise or parmentier? I have heard that Birdseye potato waffles are waffly versatile. Or you could listen to the man who knows and go with mash. I am sorry if Barty finds that arrogant, but I have eaten far more pies in my time than Chelston has. If Barty had taken the trouble to look at both of us sideways on, he would know that. As for Rob's naive suggestion, never trust a skinny pie critic.

I see that the Barn Owl now are serving (or perhaps I missed it last time I was there) two sizes of Pie. One marked S (one assumes for small) and another not sized. Wonder if this would compete with the famous Devon Dumpling Steak & Ale pie where you can get a fine selection of veg and new potatoes rather than cockney mash :@(
I think a visit beckons.

Steak and Tanglefoot highly recommended - served with buttered mash and seasonal vegetables. Or you can go for mini classic pies - a small steak and Tanglefoot and a small chicken and ham hock.

DD, they still make Double Diamond It wasn't on sale at the excellent Tuckers Maltings Beer Festival yesterday ... although I did have a half of one of Phil's favourites Devon Dumpling. What I want to know after seeing all these photos of pies and assorted surrounding foodstuff is .... how the hell does Phil stay so slim?

They serve the Dumpling with the sparkler (for me) and gives that nicy creamy head, mmmmmmmm.
