Who knows - maybe we could have lost 5-3 if we had have left Rose on!! Sounded like a fine performance in the circumstances with a huge amount of discipline to hold it together. A return to the play-offs and a perhaps the start of a run?
I still think that we're punching more than our weight in many ways compared to the other League 2 clubs up towards the top, but with quality like we have in the side and some rough diamonds (not least Kee tonight!) starting to really polish-up I think we'll still continue to surprise people. I notice that our away record is won 3, drawn 4 and lost 1 - we are very tough to beat away from Plainmoor - I think that is an illustration of how resilient we are.
Just a shame that the evening was spoiled by Exeter's defeat this evening(!). Don't believe the hype at Sid James Park (although I would rather see them finish above Argyle)!!

You win games by hard work, fighting for every ball and running until you can’t run anymore. What a brilliant win against all the odds and a win that will surely put the feel good factor back into Torquay United fans.
The second half was hard to listen to on the radio as we were under such constant pressure and Oxford missed a golden chance to make the score level. When Billy Kee failed to take what sounded like two easy chances to wrap the game up you feared we would get punished for it.
But he got his goal and a cracking one by the sounds of it that might just see him now finding the net more often. Great to hear such praise for Benyon who once again ran himself into the ground and also pleasing to hear Wroe was maybe our best player. He may well have wanted to prove something to Bucks and it would be great if he maybe could stay to at least the end of the season.
Winning is always a good feeling, but winning the way we have tonight with only ten men for most of the game, makes this win feel like winning a cup final.
Big well done to all our players and an even bigger one to Bucks for making the changes he did when he did and all I can say now is whose next? As I feel we could well go on a very nice winning run again.
Finally love that Steve Breed, he puts some real passion into the commentary.

Just read the match report on the OS (long gone are the days when we had to wait for hours/days to see a match report being put online, well done to the club!) and Oxford's goalkeeper was voted MotM. So even with 10 men we never stopped creating chances!
Roll on bottom of the league Barnet, a game in which we should be able to get all three points! Next monday live on Sky. The big question is: Will we get a 2,000+ attendence...

The performance today just shows how difficult it is to play against ten men and maybe puts Saturday's game in perspective. Morecambe have gone on to win at home by five goals tonight and I wouldn't write them off for another play off place this season yet.
So, more points in the last few days than the previous couple of months. Not sure we would have gone on to win tonight if we hadn't won at the weekend. Morale must be back up to August levels! Hopefully we can keep the winning habit against Barnet and Stockport before a run of games against the top teams in this league.
Once again, Bucks got the substitutions spot on and you couldn't ask anymore of the team a man down. Hopefully, Kee will start to notch a few more goals now that he is off the mark.

Not long back from the game. I thought we were excellent tonight. Wroe and Bevan were stand out performers. Bevan particularly in the first half. Their keeper had a blinder in the second half. For all Oxford's huffing and puffing we had the best chances in the second half, (they had one which Constable put well wide) with Wroe and Kee x2 going close, but thwarted by a desparate clearance in Wroe's case and very good goalkeeping in the case of Kee.
Kee's winner was class. The relief and joy of our 10 brave souls on the pitch was immense and there for all to see.
Benyon had run his legs off and was beginning to be a not very close second up front due to understandable tiring and Kee hassled and harried and made good positions for himself. The substitutions tonight were spot on.
Wroe provided an outlet for the defence countless times and was often then the major player when it came to attacking seconds later. His hold up play to bring others in was exceptional and exactly what was needed during times when we looked likely to be overrun.
A good and vocal turnout on the road. About 300ish.
Bit tired, so Beaufort Scale ratings as follows:-
Bevan 9 (Cracking - One save in front of us in the first half defied belief.) Oastler 7 (Hard working) Branston 6 (Solid) Ellis 7 (Very solid) Nicholson 5 (Sluggish at times) Wroe 9.5 MOTM (Masterclass) Mansell 8 (Snapping away) Benyon 7.5 (Pedometer reading of just over a marathon) Zebroski 7.5 (Good defensively) Rose 8/Robbo 6 (Rose - very good and dangerous looking, but sacrificed for the greater good. Robbo - Solid with poor distribution unless Wroe was right by him for the simple one).
O'Kane 7 (Didn't think he'd be up for a scrap. He was and provided a little bit extra for Oxford to think about) Kee 8 (Puffing, my arse. Love that man, so I do.)

Just back - great team performance... Highlights for me: Bevan's first half save - diving to his right was a stunner - it seemed that they must score, but Bevan dived and kept it out. Sometimes you dive in the hope that goes near you, rather than giving up; it'll be interesting to see this one on video. All credit to Bevan. A few other saves in the first half were also very good. His handling throughout was excellent. Sending off? Didn't see it, but Macklin had just ween switched to the right wing - in front of the dug outs. It'll be interesting to get P Buckles thoughts on it... Branston. Compared with the Gillingham game, he was immense. Constantly headed away (high and long!). The right man in the right place tonight. Nicky Wroe - effective. Some good simple midfield play - triangles with his colleagues to get out of difficult situations... I wonder if he'll stay or go?? Zebs - worked very hard, until he just ran out of steam second half. I agree that Buckle's substitutions were good & well timed. Robertson's height and discipline made a big difference. Billy Kee's goal was well deserved, but his previous two chances were 'golden' and he may be the first to say he should have taken at least one of them.... He kept going, always looked for the ball... Well done Paul Buckle - 7th now - a great team performance. No one hid from the ball. When we did just kick the ball away from defence, and unsurprisingly were the immediately under pressure, it wasn't followed by more of the same. We would then try and keep the ball and play out of defence. Not always successfully, but doing it all the same. And the travelling gulls kept the support going all of the match... Oh yes, and just for the record re previous postings.... Longeatongull left his seat three minutes early to get a coffee... Listened to Radio Oxford afterwards - not happy campers... teddgull

Yet again the Ref seemed to be against us or so poor it was incredible! We ever gunna get one that doesn`t want to cheat? I`m gunna look on Ebay and see how much Refs cost! Couldn`t believe the commentator ( not Breedy the other one ) when we had a shot on goal in the first half and he starts yelling out AAAARRRRGGGYYYLLLE, bet Breedy went red with looks that kill sat next to this idiot! You would have thought he knew which game he was at! Very difficult game to listen to but very well done the lads!

Yet again the Ref seemed to be against us or so poor it was incredible! We ever gunna get one that doesn`t want to cheat? Last nights referee was frustratingly inconsistent and should've worn an Oxford shirt. I'm sure they get trained to a certain standard but I'd wish they'd share a little love for tha game or display some knowledge about it. On last night's display he showed about as much knowledge about the game as your average Australian
