I have some good memories of playing against Burton with that last day win to make it into the play offs and then the herald of a false dawn with our first away win in the league although they did win at Plainmoor back in January. December is a tricky month for us with Burton in mid table and then the next four teams all in the top eight so we will really know how good the side is by Christmas!
I think Buckle has got a few options for this match particularly with the return of Benyon. However, maybe a few difficult decisions in respect of central midfield with Mansell, Oastler, Wroe and O'Kane all playing well at the moment. He has accommodated all four with Mansell at right back and O'Kane in a more forward position playing behind a lone striker. Does Buckle keep the same formation at home? Should Robertson start at right back? Should Kee start with Benyon or don't they compliment each other up front? Finally, is Hemmings fit, after limping off the pitch last Saturday?

First match in a sequence of five very difficult fixtures. December could well be the month that decides which way our season will head with games at Chesterfield and Bury and home fixtures with Rotherham and improving Cheltenham. Kee did very well against Walsall and will improve with games but Elliot has been and is our main goal threat so would have to play if fit. Ashley Hemmings, who predictably was being slagged off by all and sundry after just a couple of sub apearances, has looked a genuine threat and creator from both his starts and is a player every team needs top provide the unexpected just as Mussy did with such good effect last season. O'kane is getting better with every game, a bit naive on occasions but another potential match winner. Robbo over Manse for me more so because it releases Manse to midfield where I believe he/we is strongest. Burton as per usual will be tough opposition but we are on a great run after our "wobble" and I'm sure the players will be giving everything to keep it that way. One defeat in ten league fixtures and undefeated in eight is a cracking record and the squad has been a real credit the club and manager for sticking with it when it got a bit sticky in September and October. Ten points in December would be good any more would be superb.

i thought they were the best side to visit plainmoor last year, they now seem to be in a similiar position again, bobbing along in mid table capable on their of putting in a good performance. With benyon back we should be ok,but PB will not take anything for granted.Wrap up warm again i think as it will be more than nippy round the old love spuds

I think Burton will play a more open game than our recent visitors. Still play 4-5-1 with Benners up front, Zebs and Hemmings supporting him from the wings. Manse, Wroe and Oastler in CM. Back 5 picks itself with Robbo fit again.

With many games around the country falling victim to the weather, it looks very likely we won’t have the same problems for this game. Firstly it’s meant to be getting a bit warmer by the weekend and secondly the club have covers for the two areas of concern on the pitch.
One area is in front of the family stand and the other the main grandstand and the covers should they be needed, will cope with temperatures down to -2 or 0-3. degrees. The club will want the game to go ahead as should it end up being cancelled and played later during the week, the gates would then be even lower than they might be this Saturday.
I have always had a soft spot for Burton and remember so well the first time we played them in a cup match at Plainmoor. The game was not that good of a game and the result was not what we wanted, but we did get to see young Mr Clough play in the game.
A win will certainly help cement our place in the play-offs and should the Rotherham game not go ahead, we could go up one place further in the table.

Geographically speaking with regards to the imminent heavy snow coming, up country, where exactly are Burton situated? Will they be able to get here to fill the fixture?

May get some Argyle fans up just in case they haven't got a club next season and to watch a winning team. The more paying punters the better unless you're a Greek big head.

Pitch Inspection Friday at noon. May be postponed if frozen hard I would guess to save Burton a wasted trip. Even if the forcast is for milder weather tomorrow and the pitch playable we may still lose the fixture.

Acoording to the BBC weather site........the temps are set to rise this afternoon and even get up to 9o C tomorrow. I'd hazard a guess to say that the match would have probably gone ahead but appreciate that it would be well frozen this morning. With all other games off.......we've missed out on a decent gate too. Dissapointing decision.........why they couldn't have waited till sat morning as Exeter have i don't know. Exeter are hopeful of getting the game on if the expected thaw arrives. Not happy

The temperature is 1c at the moment and dropping this afternoon, freezing again tonight, 9c tommorow afternoon is way too late and won`t do a damn thing, it`s too frozen, even if the sun came out all today and was nice and warm tommorow afternoon it still wouldn`t be able to thaw out, it will need a few of days not dropping below zero to do anything at all. Calling it off tommorow is just madness and expensive, hotels and travel for Burton would be our problem not theirs, the pitch won`t change over night and the descision would not change either so it`s in everyones best interest for the game to be re-arranged, this might piss some fans off but shit happens, live with it!

Not sure where you get your facts from aussie but i suggest you look at the bbc weather site. This decision should have been made tomorrow morning.......when i reckon their would have been every chance of it going ahead - the freezing weather has now passed for the time being. Exeter have had it much worse than us this week but they are "hopeful of the game going ahead" despite their pitch being like ours, currently frozen in places. It looks like they are using common sense....... news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/2996
