I sort of caught that he did something funny but just like the keeper I was foxed!
I thought that the crowd were positive today - it was very very hard to break-down Lincoln who offered very little in terms of going forward but the fans stayed behind the team. It doesn't help at all when players single-out players and get on their backs - Lathrope had an off-day but I thought that he got less stick than he might have done usually.
Losing Stanley for the next two matches is a massive blow, but these things even themselves out. Again we have had a January arrival who has appeared out of nowhere and has had the pivotal effect on the team in the same way that Branston did. Touch wood I think the squad have been very fortunate with injuries and suspensions so far this season with the exception of some niggles. I don't think that it is coincidence either - the care in nutrition and rehabilitation and easing players back into is something that we don't mess about with these days - remember when we had Brian Heally, Chris Brandon and Habib Sisokko and god knows how many others sat on the sidelines!?
My final word on the referee. With the "Respect Campaign" I agree it is important that players behave correctly on the pitch but putting idiots like Williamson in the middle must make their blood boil - in the first half the tall player that was substituted was lucky to be on the pitch, he was already booked for a foul but after another foul he kept dribbling the ball back towards his goal giving the team a chance to get back behind the ball and the ref just lets it go. **EDIT** I thought about the "Respect Campaign" during the match and see that tufc01 was thinking the same by the time I finished the post!!
Tilson said after the game "I felt we were comfortable until they scored" and "I think 2-0 flattered them". I felt that 2-0 flattered them, not sure what he mean't by "comfortable" either - we were ramping-up the pressure and reached the stage that we asserted enough dominance over them to bring-on an extra attacking option - they struggled to string any sort of attack together. Tilson has done well to get them away from the drop zone but I don't think that they are going to be pulling up any trees for a while with that group of players.

Once again, some good match reports there, so thanks everyone who took the time and effort to post them. I think I am right in saying that was our first double of the season and hopefully we will get some more over the next few games. The only downside was the Yellow card for Stanley and the two match ban against Bradford and Port Vale. However, if we do end up in the play offs, then at least Bucks has the opportunity to get our best midfield combination with Mansell, Oastler and Lathrope and O'Kane able to play there. It was pleasing to see the home crowd start to swell as we get to the business end of the season and could have got over 3000 with a decent away following! The next two home gates are against Port Vale and Wycombe and with their support we should get well over 3000, particularly as the Wycombe game is on Good Friday. Vouchers were issued for the Lincoln match and knowing Torquay, I suspect that they will be needed for the final match, also on Bank Holiday Friday, against Chesterfield, with the away end already sold out!

The day started off well meeting the famous Wolfie and Mrs Wolfie (the club can player better than that, honest). Thought the carvery was okay, but not as nice as Nina's - something was missing (whether I had my mind on the evening's beer and Curry I'm not sure). Can't remember (or spell it) what Jon called it. However, It was still a nice get together. I'm sure we'll see Buds excellent interview and pictures in the local rag and possible the Wolverhampton Echo as well. What can you say about the ref, that hasn't been said already - a grinning idiot and a complete waste of space (some of the decisions by the lino's were also poor including an offside that was so onside you wonder what lino school he went to). The booking of Stanley for shooting at goal, the failure to book and then send off (second yellow) that tall CB, Robertsons booking, not getting on top of the blatant time wasting by their keeper, allowing their players to encrouch at free kicks "please get back 10 yards, no, okay then". All these decisions or lack of them made with that grin The first half was poor from both sides but you felt if we got a goal then the flood gates would open. Too many misplaced passes and too many players off their game - Murray, Robinson, Tomlin (glad he wasn't subbed as one late arriving fan mentioned). Murray getting replaced by big Billy on the first half showed that Bucks isn't afraid to rally the changes early. Two quality goals in the second half by Zebs who also hit the post (has to be player of the season as the guy never stops running - can't believe he still gets stick for the odd misplaced pass - like other players do as well) and a great finish by Tomlin aided by the Ali shuffle to cooley put the ball pass the Lincoln keeper. Bevan pulled a great save when it seemed harder to miss - thought that summed up the Imps afternoon. Grimes didn't much when he came on and thankfully neither did Eeyore Broughton (apart from a booking for late tackle). Can't see how Tilson thought they were in the game until the goal and that the result flattered Torquay. Lincoln huffed and puffed with no final result. Water under the bridge now, but how useful would those 3 points againsts Northampton have been now.

However, if we do end up in the play offs, then at least Bucks has the opportunity to get our best midfield combination with Mansell, Oastler and Lathrope and O'Kane able to play there. This is a MASSIVE downside. Stanley has been MoM in just about every game he has played. It's not a coincidence that since he has joined us we have gone from a team floundering outside the play offs to a team right in the mix. I have been very impressed with him in all the games that I have seen him play and whilst one player doesn't make a team he does make our team tick. He is going to sorely missed over these next 2 games. What makes it worse was that it was a nothing booking and most ref's wouldn't have booked him yesterday. It could of been worse though, the kn0b could have easily booked Zebs (for running strangely) and Branston (for being an ugly git) after all there didn't seem to be any logic to his card happy afternoon. Imagine if we had lost all 3 for the next game? Those 3 are the mainstay of the team and for all the will in the world I wouldn't fancy our chances against any one, as it is that Yellow card yesterday could still be costly.

one statistic regarding us does stand out this season,we have hit the woodwork a staggering 26 times,a bit more luck than that and we would already be almost promoted, that is one hell of a lot of unlucky strikes, maybe now though we may get a lucky streak, things do tend to even themselves out over the season or at least lets hope so anyway

Apologies, but something I disagree about, quite firmly.
It isn't luck that would've seen those attempts count as goals but better accuracy. If the woodwork has been hit then the attempt on goal was off-target, so luck doesn't come into it.

A dull first half, not helped by Lincoln's defensive set-up and timewasting. Agree with everything said about the idiot referee.
A much improved second half, helped by some useful subsitutions. Was very impressed with Zebs and the steel Branston gives our back line at home is great to see. Tomlin took his goal well, but seems like a bloke who has the potential to have an 'attitude'. Nicho responded to his constant calls for the ball off a short throw and resulting head-shaking in the first half with an indifference I found amusing ;D
Made a very welcome change to stand on the Pop Side and hear hardly any anti-manager shouts or idiot comments about players (save for one bloke who has it in for Danny Stevens). 2,700 was an improved turn out, and whilst the atmosphere never resembled a cauldron, an effort was made.
A good three points which sets us up well for the run-in.

Knives out for Tomlin then one of those with the wrong body language perhaps and will quickly make enemies on the terraces just as quite a number have it in for Danny Stevens now. Tomlin had no worse a game than many on Saturday yet gets singled out. Go back to Dagenham now mate before the abuse gets worse your face doesnt fit for whatever reason dont you know youve got an attitude problem? Glad to see Danny at least has enough character to get on with it and prove the doubters wrong - for the time being any way. One guy of a small group of thre or four next to me balling all match as usual at the players he doesnt like suddenly found himself praising Danny for a tackle and move and then reluctently turned to his mates and lowering his tone apologised for the comment . Funniest thing Ive heard for a long time. Golden balls Robinson had an awful game on Saturday poor decision making and shooting from the halfway line but little mention of that I see. Onlly one thing would ever drive me away from Plainmoor, not relegation poor performances or shite football it would be the self important know it all morons who I have to stand beside and tolerate abusing players and management alike .

Agree with you Pete, both about the senselessness of abusing your own team's players during a game and Jake Robinson, whose ball-hogging in the face of repeated failure was irritating. I would've mentioned that, but after arriving back in London after a full weekend in South Devon, I forgot. Hopefully i'll be forgiven.
In terms of Tomlin, I said i felt he has the 'potential' to display an 'attitude'. This was after one half of football (i couldn't observe as closely in the second half). My hunch may very well be total bollocks, but if you think i'm going to keep my thoughts to myself on here just because you or anyone else finds it irritating, then you will be disappointed.
