Last Friday, Chesterfield celebrated promotion when Wycombe were unable to win at Plainmoor. With Torquay, it is never that simple and for us generally things go right down to the wire. It should be a regal occasion and with Chesterfield only two points clear at the top, both teams will be looking to win. It has been a storming season for Chesterfield with Davies top scoring with 25 and Lester, Whitaker and Smalley also in double figures with this impressive quartet hitting 66 goals between them. Against Bury on Monday, the stats say they had only three attempts on target but scored twice which is one heck of a conversion rate and our defence will have to be at their very best. The good news is that they haven't won away for four matches or could be bad news if you think that they are now due for one! ;D This will be Stanley's last match for us this season and I'm sure he will make one last supreme effort and will be given a good send off. We will find out who won the various awards in the pre-match presentations and a while back dot com did hint at some other pre-match entertainment in this all ticket game so could be worth turning up early. I don't think that there will be too many changes in the team for such an important match with maybe Lathrope/Oastler and Nicholson/LRT being the selection dilemmas for Bucks. It is a great feeling to go into the last home match with something positive still on and hopefully a similar atmosphere to the Wycombe game will be generated to will the lads on.

if our defence turns up we are in with a shout,if it doesnt its good night irene, simple as that really. It will be all on the night, looking forward to it in one way, terrified in another,if we fail to win,it will probably be over for us.So typical of us,plenty of chances over 46 games but it comes down too two cup finals now.i reckon a fourth draw on the bounce, but hope and pray we beat them of course,it could be soil your pants time lol

I think I am going to be working on Friday night so it looks like I may not be able to make it - still nothing worse than seeing your opponents celebrate at your expense in your own back yard. With Plainmoor's switchboard broken down, nothing seems to change.

Bring me sunshine in your smile bring me laughter all a while In this world where we live there should be more happiness So much joy you can give to each brand new bright tomorrow. We'll murder 'em 2-1

Of course, that perfect day when we played the first league game after a brief spell in the conference seems a long time ago but that was when Chesterfield were last at Plainmoor! So once again, another significant game against this side and hopefully I will leave Plainmoor again with similar happy memories and who knows if we will end up playing them again next season? As if a large crowd and tense match isn't enough, there will be a lot going on off the pitch as well. An all ticket game, is today the last opportunity to get some? EDIT: Nope, tickets available up to the 7:45p.m. kick off time. Sales can't have been great and maybe a few away supporters will turn up in the home end?

Seriously, the phones at plainmoor arn't working? Unfeckingbelievable!! Are there any lower depths of incompetence TUFC can plumb this season? An all-ticket game and the phones are out, you couldn't make this shit up! What's the betting one of the Accountants have switched them off to save money?
Anyway, on to the game. Chesterfield have lost against Hereford 3-0 and drawn at Barnet and Oxford on their last 3 awaydays. So we should win.....right? Gonna be up at 1-30AM for this one so they bloody better had!! 2-0 to the goodguys, Zebs and a Nicho piledriver!

It's now or never tonight - we're just about in the last chance saloon and if we lose tonight then it is "time to release the end of season DVD. It would be a huge shame because although the table doesn't lie (although it doesn't elaborate on the absolute stupidity that has cost us what looks to be a vital point!), it doesn't show how close we have been to the better side of the margin of error many times over the last few months. Still, it's two years ago that we were battling to beat Burton to get into the play-offs, it was a business-like performance in the same way that the Cambridge match was - if we can match that focus, compusure and effort then maybe we can get something tonight.
I have no doubt that the players will have learned from the Crawley disaster - whilst Chesterfield are the best side in the league so far I think we will give them a game.

Well this is it boys and girls I for one will be savoring my time at Plainmoor tonite.... as it'll be our last for a while ... well until the Pre-Season friendlies of which I always attend and look forward too Goes without saying.... but it's a must win as we all know... not gaining points in our last three draws has not helped matters but it is STILL possible I can report lots of Chesterfield fans mooching around the prom and harbour this afternoon and most of them allready in the party mood..... Lets hope we can be Party Poopers by half nine tonite I like DTG's score prediction......."Zebs and a Nicho piledriver!" ........That'll do me !! Enjoy

After watching us at Burton last Monday it's difficult to decide what will happen tonight. Yes we scored three, but two of them were gifted. Chesterfield will be happy with a point so i'm going for a 0:0 draw! Could be wrong though!
