The internet is full of experts who have 'done their own research'. Cranks. Yeah, you're right lambie. Let's shut the internet down so people don't get the info that your ilk don't want them to have. It always makes me laugh that socialists who are supposed to champion the "little" people are the most paranoid about the "little" people having access to info just in case they find out what the pinko's are really up to. Some people really are more equal than others eh lambie? You're letting your paranoia rule you again, Dave. I don't believe in bans – let the loonies with their nutjob conspiracy theories out themselves.

This could actually turn into a fun thread! A lot of these seem to originate from across the pond with Roswell, Apollo landings and JFK being among the favourites with the latter being among the most plausible and possibly having the most merit.

To the extent that conspiracy theorists reject the idea of uncritically accepting what one is told, I'm with them. The trick though, as has been said, is to not be so open-minded that your brain falls out

This could be fun. However, I'm not really sure what constitutes a "conspiracy theory". Is it a JFK, Marilyn or little green men? Is it the Man Made Global Warming con trick or the Power Grab by a dark unseen global elite? Is it Corporations or Government or both. But then again may be we should be wearing tin foil hats with all the radiation around us.
Lambie is right when he says there are some wackos out there, but what happens if they were right all along, who's the wacko then?
Personally I will continue to stack gold, buy tinned goods and keep a months supply of drinking water handy. But then I live in Thailand which is probably more prone to shortages than the UK, or is it?

Leaders and 'representatives' should never be trusted, and states (liberal or authoritarian) serve as a means to monopolise political and economic power. You don't need to spend hours of 'research' on the Internet to work that out. The solution though isn't to stock up on tins of spam and bottled water, but to ignore hierarchies wherever they exist, reject leaders whenever they try to assert themselves and to generally make a nuisance of yourself. To disobey (your boss, your mates, the state) is to become civilised

Here's another one for you. This was made 15 years ago but in todays economic climate it is spookily accurate and gives you a complete lowdown on what has gone on before and why it's happening again today. It's a long one so get the tea and biscuits ready, but if you get thro it the penny will finally drop.

This Ron Paul for Beginners stuff really is hilarious. Have you checked out the Zeitgeist stuff yet? Banks don't exist on their own. Banks provide reserves of capital for capitalists to speculate – that is why they exist. Banks do benefit from state protection and collusion for sure, but then the modern state exists to protect capitalists so it's hardly a surprise! Read your Marx. The pertinent point is the commodity form, the law of value and the circulation of capital. It's all in there, and unlike an investment in Goldman Sachs or this video it will repay an investment of your time many times over

It's all in there, and unlike an investment in Goldman Sachs or this video it will repay an investment of your time many times over Well I did say it amused me. But as a starting point it's quite fun. As for Ron Paul, what can you possibly have against this guy? He is the only one talking any sense. Unless of course you favour the Stepford Politician Romney, Perry the flake, Cain the ? or the repulsive Bachman! On the Dem side you have the toadious Barney Frank, the odious Harry Reed, Hilary (how many more times can she be humiliated) Clinton, Nancy(Cruela) Pelosi and the complete sham that is Obama. Nah mate, I think I'll stick with Da Do Ron Ron! I think everyone should watch Zeitgeist and draw their own conclusions. Read some Marx a while back. Harpo was my favourite. Meanwhile checkout Alex Jones at www.infowars.com He can be way out there but some of the stuff will really hit home. You can download most of his films on youtube should you be so inclined.

As for Ron Paul, what can you possibly have against this guy? Well apart from the fact that he sits in the House of Representatives and is running for the Office of President, just his economics and politics really He's more interesting that the others, but that's not saying much. You seemway too focused on America's so-called 'libertarians' though, Dave. The libertarian/anarchist movements in early 20th century Spain, Ukraine and Kronstadt, and the ideas that underpinned them, are of far greater significance.

Lambie, do you read that stuff for fun, it nearly made my eyes bleed!! I've always tried to shy away from the "intellectual" viewpoint, not because I can't understand it (honest) but because I don't think it actually represents the very people it professes to be about. You only have to look at the bully boy tactics of the extremists on both sides to realise they ain't talking for you. They end up supressing freedoms and introducing their brand of dictatorship for the one they've overthrown. Hitler, Franco, Mussolini, Lenin, Stalin, Mao......all cut from the same block of cheese. The American political arena is fascinating and scary. The future of the most powerful country on the planet is being manipulated towards war by the global jewsih banking cartels purely for profit and to promote the zionist agenda. If you're not worried about it, you should be. Your freedoms are being eroded to stop you from protesting about it when you do realise what's going on. You will be labelled a terrorist, hater or denier to marginalize your concerns and to make sure they can finish the job. Don't say you weren't warned as the Banks squeeze liquidity to bring on depression. Don't complain as you lose your job, then your home to foreclosure. Don't believe me, do your own research.

Lenin, Stalin and Mao were worse than Hitler or Franco because the latter never made any pretence about their objectives.
If you want a readable introduction to the situation in Spain in the 1930s, read George Orwell's Homage to Catalonia. You couldn't be more wrong about the Spanish anarchists. Similarly, the rebels of Kronstadt and the Makhnovists in Ukraine fought the Red Army and opposed everything they stood for.
I'm no apologist for the state of Israel or the banks, but they are symptoms not causes.

I'm no apologist for the state of Israel or the banks, but they are symptoms not causes. Are you mad? Banks are a symptom? For 300 years the Banksters have been manipulating economies for their own benefit. By issueing a country's money and charging interest on the debt secured on the taxation of the people. We pay our taxes to the Bank's, to pay off the National Debt or, and this is priceless, to bail them out!!! It is theft on the grandest scale and they've been getting away with it for centuries. Politicians go along with it because the Bank's give them money to spend on stupid promises to Trade Union employees and buy popularity. Their only interest is to get re-elected to further their greed and keep the Ponzi scheme going. If you needed any more evidence of the depths Banks will stoop. Look no further than Greece and Italy which have suffered a Coup D'etat at the hands of the Banks. Elected (albeit flawed) leaders being deposed by the ECB and their own Unelected patsies being put in place. Where will the line be drawn against these parasites and thieves? rt.com/on-air/A different spin than the one you get fed from the mainstream media.

Banks are a symptom of capitalism. Read what I wrote earlier: You're sounding more unhinged with every post though, Dave ;D It's almost as funny as when you post about Argyle....did you know Lloyds TSB and Argyle are rumoured to be in sponsorship talks?
