"Howe with tidy finish from close range following Macklin cross, Kee's header from another Macklin cross doubles the advantage."

"Howe with tidy finish from close range following Macklin cross, Kee's header from another Macklin cross doubles the advantage." thats interesting,as we didnt score many from crosses last year,so maybe a strength in our game now, appears macklin is playing very well?

"2nd half TUFC subs: Nicholson for Rowe-Tuner, Ellis for Robertson, Morris for Stevens, McPhee for Howe, Lathrope for Mansell, Palmer for Saah, Spear from Kee, Yeoman for Macklin"
Rowe-Turner started, Nicho on the bench

Disappointing that Macklin didn't set up the third. Just cos he was on the bench is no excuse.

Gulls 3 Grecians 0 FT Howe, Kee, Morris scored Nice to see the goals spread about a bit pre-season and nice to see that our performances indicate my prediction on the first 'Where Will We Finish Poll' of this season was not as wildly optimistic as some may have thought! If anybody didn't guess I'm all alone in the poll's top box!!

Great result tonight, nice to see the new signings on the scoresheet too! Hopefully Mr buckle will see we have now moved on under ML. As has already been said, he's put together a good squad. Apparently macklin was a revelation tonight, a right turn up, perhaps a new manager will bring the best out of him, give him some confidence & a new lease of life. Is taiwo signing tomorrow?

Just a few thoughts from the match. Tonight probably firmed up the starting 11 for Burton. We were playing a proper 4-4-2 with 2 out and out wingers, not the winger/striker role used last season. The defence looked very solid, 3 from 4 sorted I suspect with the only decision left being Snoop or Nico to start at left back. Robbo looked quite assured at left CB so I suspect Marky will be warming the bench once more come the real matches start. Thought Snoop had a good game and looked quite comfortable, solid in defence with just one mishit clearance and offered a bit more pace going forward. Centre mid looks like it will be Eunan and Mansell with Macklin on the right wing. What a game he had, ripping pace and pinpoint crosses for 2 of the goals yet was always there tracking back to close down the left winger. Danny was fairly average again im afraid. He saw more of the ball but had little end product. The pace I remember from the BSP seems missing against the higher quality players he's up against in L2. Shame, but thats life Howe and Kee seemed to play well together but perhaps a few too many flicks and backheels went astray and we would have been punished more in a league match I suspect. McPhee on for Howe at half time and we offered a little less threat after that I felt. We almost seemed to be playing 4-4-1-1 at times, possibly that was just to try it out? Wholesale changes then occured with about 20 minutes gone. Morris looks ok on the left wing and may well start there in place of Danny but hard to judge on the pitch time from tonight. He took his goal well though and has probably only had one training session with the team. I think there was only Bobby O, Joe O and Eunan played the whole 90 minutes(?) but they looked fine warming down so will possibly be rested for the Burnley match. A good performance against a strong looking Greeks side (in the 1st half) which bodes well for this season.

Got to be impressed even though these are warm up friendlies. Must keep feet on the ground but hugely encouraged. Its so easy to write players off and it appears Loyd Macklin is one guy who realises that this is his opportunity to relaunch his career and is at last getting some time on the pitch. I suspect also that there are a few now in the squad with a point to prove, very healthy. Strange picture of Bucks on the official site looks like hes staring in disbelief at the quality on display. Thought bubble " Sh!t I thought I shafted this lot when I took the Rovers job before the playoffs and then took their best players!"
