I'm sure the dodgy goals committee will award that one as an OG. Saying that McPhee could and should have taken home the match ball! You could argue that was justice for his disallowed goal in the first half. Hopefully will be on the league show tonight but would be nice for some popsiders towards the Babacombe end to comment on that! Offside - fair play to the lino.

saah played very well today, morris without seeming to be unkind is way off the pace and looks a total misfit at present,he needs too improve or will struggle to retain his place imho

Oh, the irony of having a patched up attack that ends up with our best win of the season and Ling may have some difficult decisions to make next Saturday! It was nice to see the team line up as per the OP but both teams seemed to more or less cancel each other out in the first half. Olejnik did have to make a couple of sharp saves in this half and really looks the business. Most of our attacks seemed to come from the left wing but Nico, didn't have a great first half and hit quite a few wayward passes. When Oastler, got the ball it was generally hit long and Macklin didn't receive the ball in space although their full back seemed to closely mark him. He did go on one run and managed a good cross into the box but nothing came of it. The second half saw us once again give an improved performance but this time saw us go from a position of stalemate to one of dominance. We certainly started the half the better team, creating chances and a Nico shot from the edge of the area was well saved although it ended up coming in at a nice height. The stalemate was broken from a setpiece corner and having seen it again from the opposite angle, Saah got up really well and I think will score more this season in this area. However, once the deadlock was broken there was certainly more space to exploit and pressure was created from which a slight rub of the green led to the second goal. A good surging run from Manse led to this and although it was poor defending I would have liked to have seen more of this in the first half. Finally, Eunan's goal was the best of the lot and I hope the football we are playing will convince him to agree to a contract extension.

Thought we were outstanding in the second half. First half was OK but I think Macc killed the game quite effectively with their passing. Despite the boos from some of our fans, I think they were doing what they needed - I should imagine that even then they were playing for the draw. I think they're missing Sinclair, though - now is the time they're going to slip back but I'm not as pessimistic for them But we did figure them out eventually. Ling said he changed the formation to a 4-3-3 (as I suggested ) and it worked really well. By the end of the game we were tearing them apart. Mansell's run to set up the 2nd was brilliant. Ellis made a nuisance of himself up front too and the defenders were all over him which distracted them from Eunan for the 3rd. Could have a Darius Charles on our hands there if we're desperate The only disappointment was Atieno who looked a bit lazy and uninterested. I'd drop him for Howe for the next game but otherwise keep it the same as in the second half. I totally agree with what Ling said after - we do seem to have the strength in depth despite only have a squad of about 20 because we've got players like McPhee who can play in more than one position

"Well all right then, apart from Bobby,Rice,Howe,Morris, Saah, Atieno, McPhee & beating Buckles Bristol Rovers what has Ling ever done for us?"

I was certainly suprised that more use wasnt made of balls to Macklin on the wing. If he was in space looking for a ball to run on to and beat the fullback once, he was there half a dozen times in the 1st half. Out there with his hand raised whilst the ball just seemed to be knocked forward to Atieno in the middle, with his back to goal and defender right on him.

Any news on Howe's injury? Listening on the wireless yesterday before the game Lingy said he should be back next Saturday or at worse the following Saturday.
