It took me 15 mins to get into the ground after trying to find somewhere to park!!! Anyway the Yellow Army were fantastic today all 1900 odd (that's a figure that I didn't expect nor the Plymouth Stewards they had to move nets and pen extra sections all sorts of stuff). The first half I thought we just edged or back 4 seemed to be cool and well disciplined under pressure. In the Second half Manse and O'Kane took control ane we got our reward with the Billies goal (can we keep him?) and then Manse fired in after some good work from Danny (who seems to be getting more confident week after week) the Pilgrims did make a game of it when they got a goal back (that woke up their fans who were quiet for most of the game (we weren't with that drum and then the bell!!!) but I and the supporters around me felt confident we could see the game out and win.Getting out was a bit of a job just don't think PAFC were expecting so many of us down for the Deben Derby.Pasty report --- zippo sold=out after waiting for yonks.

A great day out and one of the best atmospheres I've experienced for a league match! Eventually found my way to the away end after going the wrong way round, bumping into barts, jon and chelston in the process. Went to get a quick cuppa from the portacabin outside the away end only to be told that they didn't have no hot water! The ground quickly filled up and even after kick off new blocks were occupied that were previously vacant between both sets of supporters. From kick off, the pass back to Nicholson saw him get clobbered and I remembered thinking that at least that was a position we had decent cover for although thankfully after some treatment Nico was able to continue. It was a pretty combative first half with Plymouth starting the better but with chances at a premium. Plymouth had a few shots from range which were never going to test Olejnik. We had a couple of early corners which caused Plymouth some problems and I think Ellis got a good header in which produced a good save. Our passing saw us create a couple of chances on the edge of the area which were not made the most of and maybe Howe would have done better if playing. Their best chance of the half came from a left wing cross which saw a glancing header go wide! The second half, as at Plainmoor saw us step up a gear which Plymouth couldn't match that saw us create a spell of pressure that eventually saw two quick fire goals. Danny played well on the left and a superb passing move saw him race clear only to finish with a weak effort at Cole! He then had an opportunity on the edge of the area but his goal bound shot was headed away by the defence. The goal came from a set piece from a free kick that we were very lucky to get after Oastler or Bodin were adjudged to have been fouled. Eunan swung a free kick in which was headed back across the goal and Bodin was on hand in the melee to hit his shot into the ground and for it to then bounce up into the corner! The ecstatic gulls were then rampant and with more space opening up, Danny was again clear on the left but he pulled his shot just wide of the post. However, still in the ascendancy, a second was made again from the left with Eunan cutting back a pass to Mansell on the edge of the area with a curling shot hit from the outside of his boot going right into the corner. The celebrations were right in front of me and he enjoyed that one! The Plymouth goal actually came from Cole hurriedly clearing the ball up to their forward on the right wing whose deep cross was headed back across the goal for Young to nod home. The Argyle fans could then sense them getting something from this and they had their best period of the match with much pressure and a number of corners but to no avail as the lads stood firm for a good away win. Can we play a West-country team every week? ;D

As long as we stay up (and I'm certain we will), I think this can now be regarded as a successful season
Also, still unbeaten without Howe in the side

I'm glad that my peripheral vision was working today!! Eunan's stray shot in the warm up was wining it's way to my head but at the last moment i raised my arms to fend it off. boy that was travelling!! would have been out for the count First half was scrappy with very few clear cut chances for either side. Feeney came closest for them with a header. Why did the horrible little shit have a go at Joe off the ball? guess they thought the only way they could get in the game was to get under our youngsters skins but it didn't work. Second half we noticeably stepped up our game and they couldn't live with us. Two excellent finishes blew them away. They had a glimmer of hope with their goal but they faded after LRT came on to add stability. A great game, a great result and great support Why on earth can't we get support like that at home?

Bloody hell - that was something else. My ears are still ringing. 1938 away fans, That was the best atmosphere I have ever seen at a Torquay match. went with my two sons, daughter, sons girlfriend who had never been to a football match before (christ knows what she thought of that) and my ex wifes sisters boyfriend. As for the game - the first half seemed to be over in about five minutes. Looked all the world like a 0-0 draw to me. But we came out for the second half and Plymouth were looking decidely ragged and before you could scratch your arse we were 2-0 up and bedlam ensued. Unusual for me but didn't see who scored either or how the ball ended up in the net. Plymouth had gone in and were looking like they were already relegated. Typically we slackened off and they scored and we looked as though we might throw it away. Unusually the last quarter of an hour flew by and only two minutes of injury time. Hemmings blasted over and it was game over. Cue absolute delirium - if you were not there it is impossible to convey the noise level and volume of support. Thought Atieno was excellent today.

atieno, credit to him,bit part player all season, then he turns in three excellent performances on the trot,i agree alunmerrkat,he worked his bloody socks off again today,ok he isnt and never will be a skillful player but us torquay fans always take too a tryer and that he is certainly starting to prove to be.In lingys post match interview he mentions atieno and his contribution, but he wasnt alone, defencesively we held firm, and bodin terrified them in partnership with okane. And when you take a look at the oppositions forum and they are belittling you even though you just beat them,it tells you things are going really well

Taken from 'on-high'. The Yellow Army massed before kick-off... The support was superb, apart from a brief moment after the Argyle goal nearly all the singing was non-stop coming from our lot. Even on the half-way line it was all you could hear.

I see Martin Ling is prepared to wait until the end of Jan/early Feb to see if we can get Bodin back. It is great he is so certain of his man, I just hope we don't lose out on other possibilities whilst we wait as we definitely need am extra attacking option. Hopefully our good friend Di canio will make up his mind sooner rather than later!
Again another well done to the squad and management for a great Xmas period!!

well, our club has taken lots of stick in the past for ticketing chaos, but it now seems our mighty big neighbours cocked up yesterday as well, reports suggest a thousand or so of their fans were locked out due to the ground being filled to the brim. The natives are getting restless it seems.

Long time reader but first time poster. Was quite happy reading and not saying anything, mainly for fear of being pounced on, like I have seen in the last few days. However there is one thing i really do disagree with and with expectations of people having a go at me I will say my piece.
OUTSTANDING effort from the lads yesterday, best away game I have to since I have been supporting the gulls, missed the Wembley win unfortunately. However disagree with 2 peoples summing up of Atieno's performance, thought he went to ground too easily and failed to hold the ball up at all, it meant that the back four was under pressure for longer than they should have been. If he was able to hold the ball up, like Howe does, then we would have had less to worry about from them. He had a good 20 minutes against Swindon, but was ordinary against Oxford and not even that good yesterday.
Chris Roberston was outstanding and I thought Mark Ellis had a great game too, agree with the fact he makes way to many mistakes but he didn't make any yesterday. The keeper was my best player, but he was pushed by most of the others.
What a noise the away fans made yesterday, incredible, apart from that bloody bell. well done to everyone who made it to the game and for those that missed it, you missed a bloody good day, the likes we may not see again for a while.

How did you get there Budleigh? not another "freebie" surely?! (if so, how were the prawn sandwiches) - or was it you standing in the condemned bit ready to throw the ball back!

Good 1st post.... I make you absolutely spot on with your assesment of Atieno (and the rest of it too) I'm sure we all want Atieno to be a success.....he certainly is a tryer but having seen him 9 or 10 times now, the simple truth is that he just isn't quite good enough for this level, he's not a million miles away but he's far enough away to let him go and get someone better in.........especially, in this formation that relies on a the CF able to hold the ball up. His 1st touch is too loose, he doesn't "jump his height" in the air and he has neither sufficient pace or power to make up for other areas in his game. Shame......but the BSP looks his level to me. The keeper and O'Kane staying, Bodin and a better striker signed up and you could be talking play offs minimum.

1-0 to us for this one, with Chadwick seeing red on 63mins. Didn't need the RED card, he didn't manage much more than 20 minutes before being forced off with an injury, which was a good result for us. isn't he supposed to be one of their better players. That big lad up front for them was useless, can't remeber his name but apparently he won man of the match?? I could run faster than him and I am 55.
