As the only team in the league to have double figures in the win column both home and away, hopefully we can keep our consistency going in this top versus bottom clash. However Barnet will be a tough nut to crack and were very hard to break down at Plainmoor with possibly the goal of the season from Nicholson needed to take all three points.
After pulling clear of the relegation zone, Barnet have found themselves slipping back down with an away win at Port Vale the only recent bright spot. Draws against fellow strugglars, Macclesfield and Dagenham have not really been enough with the low point being a 0-4 home thumping against Bradford on one of their better days! They have six points from the last six and at that rate will be in danger of relegation although they are a team that always puts in a late surge but hopefully that will be after this weekend.
Recent loanees for therm have been in attack with Scott McGleish from Bristol Rovers and Ben May from Stevenage coming in with the latter partnering dangerman Izale! Another loanee, defender Paul Downing was stretchered off with a neck injury and although not as serious as first thought, may be a doubt for this one!
I think Ling will keep more or less the same team for this one. Jarvis may get a look in on this one after scoring and with the wide man not having the best game on Saturday. If so, Ling has the choice of switching Morris to his preferred left wing or keeping Danny there. I would say that Danny has struggled to find his best form since turning his ankle and whilst rushing him back was understandable considering the season he has had, I don't think it has been beneficial for him, particularly with the succession of games we have had this month. At least we have got a decent recovery period for this one and I'm sure Ling has a handle on who best to play.
COYY!

Shall be in London on friday so looking forward to the evenings entertainment in Barnet. Last time i was in Barnet i ended up half way up THAT tree with another bloke above me trying to see more than half the pitch ! Yes it was THAT game in 2001. Waited around outside with the other couple of hundred gulls also locked out that day. Should be a bit more room on frday but hopefully we will have a large away support up there !

Reading the Herald, another away win here, apart from putting the pressure on our rivals will actually equal the most away wins in a season which has been built upon winning eight of our last ten on the road.

As for the safety net scenario, 3 pts Friday in my opinion will see us in the playoffs as a minimum. Any thoughts on this one? Surely 75 pts or 3pts from our next 7 games will be enough

Surely 75 pts or 3pts from our next 7 games will be enough I think it will be just enough! Looking at Crewe, they would need 14 points from their last seven games, or 4 wins, 2 draws and a loss, which will be tough to achieve. I would be delighted to get that many as 86 points would probably be enough for the automatics. Very hard to predict though and who would had thought that a point against Chesterfield would have been enough to get into the play offs last season! Just need to take it one game at a time and get the points in the bag.

I think a win tonight will virtually guarantee us a play-off spot minimum.... however... we need to start scoring a hatful of goals as I feel that we could well lose out to automatic promotion due to our inferior goal difference.... currently 7 behind Crawley and 6 behind Shrewsbury meaning that if either or both of them draw their game in hand we'd drop below them...
Cue 8-0 away win!

Very hard to call as how we qualified in th P/Os last year and got relegated in 2005 shows how freak results can affect you either way.

Nervy about this one we need the points and so do Barnet and my fear is that if we tail off and end up in the play offs we could be on a run of descending form just at the wrong time. This is the run in and we couldn't have asked for more could we?

Off to this one in a tick. Glad to see no new injuries. All games are tricky in their own way so I never take anything for granted. As long as the players focus and dig in when they have possession then we will be fine.... etc.
I would imagine around 200 of us there tonight...? Hopefully we'll make it to the Queen's Arms for a cheeky pint like last year.
Fingers crossed for a points deduction for Crawley to really turn the screw!
Up the Gulls.

We were off our game in the first half- Barnet were playing direct and fast moving football and we have been far to fussy with the ball - can only hope playing up hill will be more productive but don't really deserve anything so far - the missed penalty was a good present! ;D
