Some were questioning why some of us, myself included, had switched to the pessimism camp of late. This is why
We've run out of puff of late. We've been presented with enough opportunities to stay or get ahead of Crawley. We've not taken them. We don't deserve to go up

Sadly it does look as of we have run out of gas! That for me is the biggest worry as we are only ONE point behind Crawley with two to play.

Might as well be 2, though, as their goal difference is much better

have been sadly lacking in the striking department. why didnt we go for Guy Madjo when he left Port Vale? he scored 2 today for Aldershot and one the other night. just the type of striker we needed.

I think it will be Billy Bodin who may well come back to haunt us next Saturday.

For me we played all our best stuff during mid season and somehow found ourselves in this position. I have't been convinced for a number of weeks despite hoping we could re-discover some real form and more importantly GOALS from somewhere. Still a slim chance but today told a story and when we needed to dig in and get a result the tank was empty. Any neutral at our recent games would have gone home amazed at the position we find ourselves in. Not really sure why although I believe we are where we are because of our amazing defence and keeper and it was sure to catch up with us eventually. If you ask me the way we set out to play has been awful to watch of late and I have my doubts that we will even make the final of the play offs and Crewe next week could give us plenty of clues as to our potential for promotion. Not over yet by a long way but to ease the disappointment we can at least, if we do fall short, look forward to probably six proper derby matches and even a Paul Buckle rematch.

The Oxford game was the turning point. I sensed it at the time I was listening to it. Going 2-1 down after leading 1-0 is never good psychologically, and then the red card after made it even worse. I actually stopped listening to it at that point, because I knew that even if we got an equaliser (which we did), we weren't going to win, and we needed to win every game to have a chance of going up - that result took it out of our hands and back into Crawley's
Since that, we've lost our momentum. I don't think it's anything to do with formations or tactics or anything like that which no doubt some people will cite (as they have been doing all season, apart from when we've been winning, funnily enough). It's the same team playing the same way as when we went on a couple of great runs. The problem is, as has happened a couple of times before, we've been found out, and dropping points has taken away our invincibility - if teams go into matches thinking they will lose, that's half the job done already, but after a couple of poor results, opponents will think they've got a chance. Fatigue probably isn't helping either - we don't have the squad depth, and that's because we can't afford it
We just need a bit of luck to turn it around, but it's too late in the day for that now. Something happened that I've been nervous about for the last couple of months: we peaked too early. Had this happened a month ago we may have been OK but it's just come at the wrong time and that's going to cost us automatic and will probably cost us the play-offs as well
Ultimately with Crawley drawing it makes little difference - we will still overtake them if we get 2 wins and they only get a win and a draw, which was the scenario in place already. But we don't have the momentum any more. Realistically, the best we can hope for is another day at Wembley (in which anything can happen although I wouldn't expect us to win, whoever we play) but that will depend very much on who we get in the play-off semis - after today, it could be Oxford, and I don't fancy our chances against them

It’s not over yet and we are still very much in the same position as we were before the start of today’s game. I would agree looking at our recent form it’s easy to start to think that we will not gain automatic promotion. But football is and always has been a funny game and nothing is ever decided until the fat lady stops singing.
It hurts that it just happens to be Crawley who only need to win their last two games to go up and leave us facing those nerve racking play-offs, but they do have to win both of them and we do always have the chance of winning our last two games.
Our club does all it can to live with in its means and that does mean we operate with a smaller squad then many other teams and it has been pointed out once the best eleven are out on the pitch, we do not have any match winners on the bench we can bring on.
I really do not know what is better, a team that wins and loses some games and hangs around the mid table all season, or one that sits in a higher place in the table than might be expected, then falls at the last hurdle.
To lose out on promotion for the second season running is unthinkable and would once again leave a good number of fans gutted and very disappointed. What ever happens we must not forget just how big our club is and to even be where we are in the table is in my view a miracle.
A win at home against Crewe and Crawley only getting a draw will make the last game away to Hereford the most nail biting match and one not for the faint hearted, That’s the best we can hope for right now and we will have to wait a whole week to know if the Hereford game will mean anything and just what we have to play for up there.
Keep the faith and keep everything you can crossed, there is still hope and as long as there is we must hold onto it. No fan wants to see another play-off final end in tears and I just have this gut feeling that Crawley will slip up and we go up automatically.
We will have our new stand ready for next season and for the man it is named after we just have to get promoted. Come on boys dig in deep for the next two games, give everything you have and if you do that then you can win those games.

purely on that performance today we will neither get automatic promotion or go up via the play offs,it was dire, players dont need lifting for a biggy as todays game was,but too many seemed uninterested, lingy said only 3 players gave it a go,maybe some are more happy playing dagenham and aldershot next season rather than portsmouth and coventry,if that is the case get rid in the summer. We have appeared to have blown a wonderful opportunity, typical tufc.I really dont know how lingy is going to sort this out,we were very very gutless and disappointing today, still all to play for,but worryingly some are not showing the slightest interest
