London Pride 4.3 ish with Dumpling coming at 5.1 ish ABV. Isn't taste more important than ABV? Any way, I always thought the higher the ABV the better. Support your local beer! Don't forget that the Devon Dumpling is a local pub for local people. We don't want any of that foreign London beer in OUR pub! If one is quaffing then you don't want to strong a beer. Devon Dumpling is a good strong ale but I also like Bays Gold which is about 4.2 The Church House Inn at Marldon do a good pint of Teignworthy Gun Dog along with one of the best Fillet Steaks in the bay.

Maybe we should stick to twin town arrangements with the dominions? Something like Bendigo Way, Geelong Avenue or Woori Yallock Drive might slip off certain tongues more easily? Excuse me! Confused.com!

When OUR football club was taken over by a delusional fantasist, one of the things that sparked a few enquiring minds to dig into his murky past was that he claimed to have family from "Devonshire", which is something anybody who really had family from Devon would never say. I'm just reading my father's wartime letters to my mother and, in the heat of the Battle of Anzio in January 1944, he's talking about having a holiday in "Devonshire" after the war. A Londoner, you see......

Now it's been alleged that one-time Totnes MP Ray Mawby was spying for the Czechs perhaps that explains Chris Roberts mother's Devonshire family?

Getting back to Dave Smith i popped into his pub just before xmas and asked if some of us Gulls fans could call in before the game down there. He was delighted and said no problem.....unfortunatel we never managed to get down there but have been in since and he showed me some cutouts he has on the wall. He used to have more but needed to make some space. He has said that whenever we play down there we are welcome to pop in for a pint or two before hand.
