Is there much call for a Conservative Club in Hele? It's an "either/or" I guess: EITHER the beer is cheaper than the Royal Standard OR the Royal Standard has been closed by the relevant authorities OR you've been banned by the Royal Standard (the Conservatives being far less bothered about who they ban) |

Signed this guy for a bargain £5,000 from Newport in March 75 where he had just scored 50 in 168 league apps. Went on to score 47 in 139 league apps for us as well as missing a shed load of sitters i seem to remember ! Anyway if either Bodin or Howe can match that ratio of goals i shall be more than happy. Barty's right, he has occasionally been spotted on the Popside. Knees up Willie Brown Knees up Willie Brown Up the table we will go Ee-aye-ee-aye-ee-aye-o When we get promotion This is what we'll sing We are Torquay We are Torquay Willie is our King ...........and good old Willie was also proud possessor of TUFC Gringo Moustache Of The Century as far as I can remember anyway, straight off the set of "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" - although never actually spotted him in a poncho tbh - Jimmy Dunnes' was a neat little, cheeky, almost spivvy/Pte Walker-esque and well-maintained affair, I seem to recall - Clint Boulton and Dave Tearse also were fairly flush in the upper lip hirsute-ness department but Willies' lip-fungus was of far more exuberance and quality I reckon - I notice from a team pic from 1968/69 even the sainted Robin Stubbs also sported a splendid effort at one stage - any more for Moustache-Watch? - this could possibly develop into a quest for best of show sideys, pig/ponytails and perms maybe?  ............... |

..........this may even develop into club best weird-beard awards from yesteryear which of course would necessitate a separate thread natch? - both Jim De Garis and Peter Coffill both sported fine face shrubbery I recall - thinking on now, the sainted, great Mike Mahoney was also a pretty hot sporter of a Gringo, for sure.........
