Our last competitive match was on 7th March and 29th February was the last league game at Plainmoor so it is with some relief that the season finally starts albeit 2 months late.
No fans for the foreseeable future but the PSFs helped build up the technology to live stream games and certainly got better with replays etc and further improvements are likely. £9 a game is good value and hopefully should tempt both home and away supporters to participate and who knows if viewers will exceed Plainmoor capacity at some point?
Very hard to judge from just three streamed games how our pre season has gone but Cameron and Umerah have stood out for me closely followed by Moxey. What is certain is injuries have meant the side is not yet firing on all cylinders and the line up on Saturday may well change over the coming weeks.
Stockport may have just been promoted into the National League but have spent big bringing in John Rooney and have been made favourites. Maybe a good time to play them as they find their feet in a new division or maybe not? No crowds probably eliminates much of home advantage.

Maybe a good time to play them as they find their feet in a new division or maybe not? Weren't Chesterfield pre-season favourites last season after spending a big wedge on players? And look where it got them. If Stockport are indeed favourites I would agree it is better to play them before they get up a head of steam. Mind you this is not Stockport's first season back in the NLP, they kicked the shit out of us at Plainmoor, 1-5 last season.

Spot on, must have buried it out of my mind. Won 0-4 at their place in a bizarre set of fixtures

Forecast not encouraging - may be more of a river than stream! Not good at all, drainage will be tested but think the game will be on as pitch is in top condition (for now).

A few negatives. We appear to be carrying over our injury jinx from last season. Pre-season preparation has been disjointed and far from ideal. None of the opposition have been hard tests with Chipenham exposing a few weaknesses. Personally I think we are still lacking genuine pace in the squad - is there any way we could we could afford play Asa Hall and Danny Wright in the same side against pacey opposition? Stockport look like they could be contenders with the quality of players brought in. We have a few unknown quantities in the squad and have no idea how they will settle in or perform long term. We have lost our major source of goals plus our only genuine "flair" player who could turn a game in an instant when on his game. We are starting the season with out at least two quality players in Liam Davis and Armani Little with stand in signing Moxey also ruled out through suspension. GJ is unlikely to be starting what he believes to be anywhere near his strongest eleven.
Totally up in the air this opener with no form to judge either side its impossible to predict which way this will go and many of our starting line up will not have been considered first choice. It will be interesting to see how many "stake a genuine claim". Buse, Nemane, Koszella, Nelson, Kerr, Umerah, etc will all have points to prove. Wright at his stage of career will understand he may be in and out at the expense of younger, quicker players. No fans means the 12th man effect will be non existent. Referees must be loving the prospect of being able to make decisions based on what actually occurs without crowd pressure - we all know it happens. As per usual and before a ball is kicked in genuine anger every club and its supporters will be optimistic with half of the division now made up of ex football league clubs all vying to get back to where they believe they belong. I was certainly more optimistic a few weeks ago but further delays, crowd bans, and injuries to key players still plaguing the squad my expectation levels have become a little more tempered.
One massive positive though - We do still have Garry Johnson as manager and that fact alone could outweigh all of the negatives.
Still, I'm looking forward to streaming a competetive live game and watching form the comfort of my armchair while it psses down at Plainmoor may not be a bad thing.

Looking forward to the game today and first time streaming. Looking at the app through my android tv box it doesn't appear to have full screen mode. Does it change when streaming begins and gives you the option. Is full screen mode available for android with this app? Early days I know but instructions to stream and watch are pretty vague and needs improving if were going to be doing this for a long time.

I think there’s going to be a few technical issues to get over, however it did seem to improve from a low base in the preseason friendlies so expect it to get better over the season. There is a help line available to call. Looking at the weather right now, streaming from the comfort of my lounge does not seem such a bad idea although cannot beat that live match day experience. Looking forward to seeing details of the team sheet, could be a few surprises in there.....

I am the last person to look to for tech advice, but does this help? Enjoyed the Hemel game. Managed to cast to TV in the end but a bit fiddly - not as easy as casting youtube. Could not cast from ipad so had to cast whole desktop from pc, go full screen on computer and then use zoom on the TV remote to get to full screen. Result was worth it though. With a decent commentary, that would be a quality product.

3 new players in the squad. Sam Sherring, Louis Britton and Randell from Argyle. All one month loans. Sherring a left back from Bournemouth. Britton a striker who got a hat trick in the week v Swansea U23’s and Randell a midfielder some might know a bit about.

Wynter centre back, Buse right back? Randell holding midfield, Hall centre back?
