The FA Cup is an important competition for us, despite being less lucrative this year so nice drawing a team three divisions below us giving us a very good chance of progressing and extending our winning run to 4 games. The downside is this is the first of three away games in a week and while two are relatively close in Hampshire, there is then the punishing trip to Hartlepool which will be featured on BT Sports.
It could well be that none of our loanees will be available enforcing change but giving some pitch time to the likes of Warren and Hall would not be a bad thing. Johnson made the comment that the players were pretty knackered after the Dover game so he needs to get the balance right between putting out a winning team and keeping key personnel fresh.
Sholing actually have a game on Tuesday first, in the obscure Russell Cotes Cup, a Hampshire competition and actually play Lymington who we played for the first time in the FA Cup 2 years ago in one of Johnson’s first games in charge. Not too many players left from who played that day, Hall, Andrews, Wynter, Cameron and the injured Davis. That game featured on the BBC, will we get similar coverage and otherwise what are the chances of getting this streamed?

I see that any of the 400 tickets left after this weekend will go on general sale from the Sholing clubhouse tomorrow. If there are any Torquay fans in the area planning on picking up a ticket for this game please message me. If you could pick me up one i would be happy to pay for yours...no problem...many thanks.

I fancy one or two players being rested for this one and hopefully one or two who haven't featured getting some pitch time. Having said that we all know GJ will not be taking Sholing for granted and may well start his strongest eleven. When will we know if its being televised? Appears to an attractive one for the cameras but you never know with so many ties to be played.

The Woking and Aldershot tie must be one of the favourites to be chosen, I'd've thought.

link - confirmation that no away fans but more interesting the club are going to liaise with Sholing about providing a possible streaming service which would be good news.

link - Congratulations to Sholing FC who beat Lymington one nil tonight in the final of the Russell Cotes Cup to retain the trophy they won last year courtesy of a Daniel Mason goal on the stroke of half-time. From a Torquay perspective, an advantage for a full time side to play against part timers that have just had a cup final in the mid week.

Pity, let’s hope the club can organise some streaming otherwise TUFC radio it is. No word yet on TUFC being able to stream this. Normally in a FAC match revenues are shared with a percentage going back to the FA so streaming would be beneficial for both parties. I suppose just comes down to the cost and logistics of providing this service in the ground. Not sure if a seasonal streaming pass would include this game.

Very poor weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon. Very wet and very windy hope it doesn't turn into a lottery.

Very poor weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon. Very wet and very windy hope it doesn't turn into a lottery. A deluge by the looks of things but thankfully hitting Southampton a little later than us with the heavy stuff from 5pm onwards so game should be on but wind will be up. We have coped well in these conditions recently. Hopefully the same for Aldershot so our game there on Tuesday is not affected.
