The last day of the season, where it was hoped, we would bounce back up to the National League, but ended up just scraping through to avoid relegation. In some respect, a change of ownership itself is a result, as there are many including myself, that did not have any confidence, even if any development went ahead, which was the prime/only motivation for the owner, whether this would actually see the club in a better position and actually could have ended up being an existential threat. The process leading to administration actually said a lot about where the owner’s priorities actually lay with the televised forum and local paper interview not reflecting well in hindsight.
While this game is now a dead rubber in that we are safe and Havant are relegated, the continuing due diligence being undertaken means the club is still in desperate need of funds to keep going, particularly after four matches on the road. Hopefully there will be a good attendance as the local community continues to support the club both from admissions and purchasing of club products.

Let us hope we can end a disastrous season with a good performance and a win.
More importantly, let’s hope we can see the end of the club policy of deliberately dividing the fanbase and be one club united again with all the malign influences removed.
From Tuesday’s squad we will lose Collins but may add Ofori-Acheampong.
I do hope we name five subs. That would mean Wellington on the bench and Chastey too if DOA is not fit.
Nice to be able to enjoy the game without the pressure of having to get a result.

Probably off topic, but the One Club United slogan reminded me of the fact that if a country had the word Democratic in its name (e.g. The German Democratic Republic) it almost certainly wasn't democratic. Perhaps we should be wary of owners using the word United.

4-0 at HT! Where has this been all season? Ending up 5-0 at full time, but could easily have been more with some good shots just flashing wide of the post at times. Havant certainly had chances themselves, but their finishing was absolutely awful. Shortly after Wellington came on he was able to feed Jude Boyd on the edge of the 6 yard box to fire home into the bottom, right hand corner. It took us over 20 minutes to score and in that time we hit the woodwork twice, first time with Lapslie having a shot ricocheting off the post and as he scurried to retrieve it, he was knocked over by a Havant defender and hurt his knee leading to the introduction of Booth. A great free kick from McGavin saw him hit the underside of the bar, bouncing onto the line, so really close to scoring. Ash then scored from close range after a cross wasn’t dealt with, and he was able to latch onto the loose ball. Booth’s goal was absolutely magnificent. A bouncing ball near the center spot was headed forward by Booth and racing onto the ball he volleyed a shot from between 35 to 40 yards out, which was dipping wickedly over the keeper, he did get a hand to it, but could only touch it into the top of the net. One of the best goals I’ve seen at Plainmoor. Jenkins Davies got a couple goals, one from a good shot when he was put through to make it 3 goals in just 6 minutes and another just before half time after a Jude Boyd shot was only partially dealt with the ball bouncing on the line and Jenkins Davis was the quickest to react by bundling the ball in to make the an exciting first half. Despite the goals celebrations, prolonged treatment for Lapslie and his substitution the referee decided to just play six seconds of injury time. Probably felt sorry for Havant! I spoke to the Havant commentators after the game, who wished us all the best with their second clubs being in similar situations. They have no idea what league they will be in next year until after the AGM but had investors coming in so were fairly optimistic about their future. Over 3000 Home supporters after the season we had was a great effort.

Anyone who was at these last two games of the season cant of failed to notice the poor quality of the opposition. I realise we can only beat whats in front of us but both Taunton and Havant looked no better than Southern League standard at best. Over the entire season we have struggled to overcome anyone half decent and i do hope that these last couple of results dont paper over the fact that this has been one of the worst squads we have had in a very long time.

Cracking game with what must be the goal of the decade by our new midfield hardman - Austin Booth.
Thought the young lad Wellington played well.
Entertaining game and could have ended up 8 - 4
New owners
New manager
New/keep some squad
Season ticket prices

Cracking game with what must be the goal of the decade by our new midfield hardman - Austin Booth......... It reminded me of an identical long range goal by Les Lawrence, and at the same end too, against, I think, Bradford City many decades ago!
