Last year, this was probably the fixture of the season outside of the play offs with the Buckle factor involved. Ironically, with Bevan injured and other ex TUFC players moved on, it is Poke and Downes that will be more recognisable to the opposing fans! I'm a bit gutted that I can't get to this one as will be in Berkshire so hopefully there will be some good match reports on here! Rovers once again haven't had a good start taking just 11 points from 11 games although 9 points from the last six including a first home win against Northampton suggests an improving picture. Their injury list makes ours look comparatively benign though with Bevan, Gill, Harrold, Bolger and Woodard all out and Derek Riordan not training for 2 weeks and unlikely to be involved in proceedings. As for our boys, I think it is just Morris and Macklin out and the Yeovil match has maybe given Ling some more options with Jarvis being the pick of the bunch! However, I can't see Ling picking anyone other than the Accrington line up with Lathrope particularly adding some much needed solidity to the midfield. All eyes will be on big Rene as he attempts to equal the record of scoring 7 in 7 league games and in the form he is in then he will never have a better chance! Ling has mentioned how important these three games are and a second away win would very likely put us back in the play offs prior to the visit of the league leaders on Tuesday.

Saw signs last week v Accers of an improvement so I'm going for a 1-0 with Sir Rene notching in the 2nd half.
I'm also in Berks this weekend but I can't be bothered to trundle the 45 mins down the road having seen Rotherham and Wycombe recently and keeping my cash in my pocket. It'll be Gulls player for me.

As Rob has said, last seasons fixture against Rovers was seen by many as the game of the season due to the Buckle factor. After taking a number of our better players and having far more money to put a side together than Martin Ling had, beating his team and at their home ground, had us all jumping for joy for weeks and months afterward.
This is a difficult game to call the result, it does seem to me reading recent match reports on here, we can be a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde side at times. So for me it will come down to which team turns up today and if it is the right one, then I can see no reason why we can't come away with all three points.
We can't complain where we are sitting in the table right now and yes a win might just see us sitting in a play-off place come 5.45pm today. When you take into consideration the injuries we have had in our small squad so far this season, then that would be a wonderful achievement for little old Torquay United.
I have enjoyed watching a number of games up at Rovers but never saw a Torquay win, there was one game when we went two nil up only to see Rovers come back and the game end up in a draw.
If you are going to today's game I hope you have a safe trip and enjoyable day out. I look forward to reading your match reports and thoughts on the game later.

No Stevens. Looks like Craig will go wide left. Easton, Lathrope and Mansell - bit negative

3 mistakes = 3 Rovers Goals still doing well with only 10 men but you can't give anyone 2 goals lead unless it is aldershit

So we're 3-2 down and struggling to get possession - so what do we do? Take our best passer and main creative force off, and bring on a defender. Yeah, that's totally logical

Yeah, that's totally logical reported elsewhere that he was having a bad one, so take him off and save for tuesday, possibly logical. leave it to the manager

With both Morris and Macklin out with long term injuries, I can't see the answer coming from within - not enough quality to bring off the bench.
PLEASE Mr Ling find the key to the warchest...and quick.
