This game at Coach Road has sort of passed me by but will be a useful run out for the squad and maybe even Manse will be able to get a game!

They have put the expected line-up in the HE story and it is more or less as you would expect. Dan Leadbitter will not be featuring as he is starting on Saturday. Doesn't mention anything about Eddie Odihambo - although I recall that trialists are not eligible to feature in these games years ago and I'm not sure whether that applies these days.
Chris Luxton's name doesn't feature either - did he ever sign-up after his trial in September? I know he scored for Booming at the weekend but assume that he would still be available t o feature for them even if he had joined us.

Final score 2-2 - we won 3-1 on penalties. Sounded like a tough game for the youngsters, we went 1-0 up early-on before the equalised with a penalty about 5 minutes later. Liverton took the lead about 5 minutes into the second half before Tom Cruise scored about 15 minutes from time to send it to penalties.
Starting line-up : Rice, Nardiello, MacDonald, Mackenzie, Cruise, Artemi, May, Thompson, Halpin, Baker, Yeoman

Wish all midweek aways were a fifteen minute drive home! Yes we came on strong in the last quarter and won it with some well taken penalties. Thought Rice was lucky to not get sent off after bringing the last man down for their penalty in the first half. The match was filmed and can be watched on the Devon FA website later in the week.

Liverton gave the young gulls a good work out , at coach road . Rudge in midfield looked a very good little player, for Livvy. around 200 watching. Torquay will now play last years winners Buckland Athletic at Homers Heath at a date to be confirmed. Torquay will want to get revenge on Buckland, who have knocked the gulls out for the last two seasons,

Thanks for your reports I had planned to go myself but due to an accident at work have ended up in bed unable to move and racked in pain.
After watching our young players play against Buckland last season and looking at this result I wonder if our players standard is not much higher tham our best local non league teams

Some decent highlights up on youtube - there are also pre- and post-match interviews with Shaun Taylor and Tony Bowker.
The highlights confirm a few thoughts on the night:
- excellent cross from Ashley Yeoman for our first goal
- Ricey very lucky not to be red-carded
- the most blatant penalty I have ever seen not given for the assault on Halpin just before our second goal. Fortunately for the ref, he can claim it was a brilliant piece of advantage playing
- one highlight missing from the video was the pasty and chips in the clubhouse.
