One of my first derbies i seem to remember. I think all the Exeter fans seemed to be in the pop side at the family stand end. I cant remember if they had tried and failed to take the mini stand, but i expect so ! Plenty of scarves tied on wrists etc and then back to the safety of my uncles Vauxhaull Viva after the game.......happy days.

Plenty of scarves tied on wrists etc and then back to the safety of my uncles Vauxhaull Viva after the game.......happy days. I remember turning up to a City game with my mates as usual about 20 minutes before KO, astonished to see a group of around 20 youths sporting red scarf’s sat on their arses in the middle of the mini-stand! As kids we took our usual places next to the hoarding directly behind the goal and waited for it all to kick off - I don’t recall the tall metal fence being there at the time as I’m sure running on the pitch was our planed escape route. As kick –off approached and the mini stand began to fill, up they stood and began to chant. A Handful of Bobbies armed with truncheons escorted them to the away end but not before a few punches had been thrown. The walk of shame was accompanied by chants of “YOU’LL NEVER TAKE THE MINI...” Was that in 1975?
