Similar conditions in S10. But, to prove that the north of England isn't entirely under snow, this was Preston this afternoon:

That's proper snow that is - unlike the only snowfall we have had this year last Sunday which had all melted by the afternoon!
Only 6 out of 12 matches went ahead in league 2 today and the weather probably helped with us winning as there is increased pressure on those that didn't play, particularly the likes of Aldershot.

Had some reasonable snow here in CV5 too. Didn't think I'd be doing another 2.5 mile trudge to campus through the white stuff again but I've got an essay due this week so needs must, and it looks as if I've got a few more of those to come as well
In any case, it sums up the bleak mood around the football team here. What a mess

Thanks for the great pictures wildebeeste and Barton Downs, we have been short of some good pictures for a while on here, they are always most welcome. Hard to believe its spring looking at those pictures, hard to believe there is such a thing as global warming as well.

I think the word "global" is key there, Dave, but it's certainly our turn for some warmth. Apologies to all, by the way, for wearing Chesterfield 1998/9 socks in the picture above. They certainly knew how to make a durable sock in them days!

Thanks for the great pictures Chris and how sad it has been to learn that after the latest fire on the 12th January this year, its unlikely the ski centre will ever open again. Three fires last year as well, the biggest one in April and two others in May, why do mindless people have to destroy things others get great pleasure from.
There is a ski slope in Plymouth and while I have not seen anyone using it for a good while (maybe because the time I go to Plymouth on Wednesday mornings it’s not open?) I have just read there have also been fires at that ski centre last year as well. I do wonder if they are as popular as they once were, I guess the Sheffield one was well used as it seems fifty people have now lost their jobs because of the last fire.
The only other one I know about was in Yeovil, but that one closed down six years ago as the company running it got into financial difficulties, its still there but has also been set on fire a number of times and the town council is having to pay out over 6 grand to try and protect the site. It does seem at some point houses etc will be built there.

Glad you like them, Dave. By heck, it was chilly up there but colder still up on the moors this afternoon.
