Funnily enough I wasn't due to start this one but I guess Rob is busy so I'll get it up now
Anyway, lots of moves have been made today (former Gull Wayne Thomas has joined Rochdale, for one) but it seems as if neither of these 2 sides have made any
Northampton's home form has been very good all season - they have won 15 of their 20 home games, with just 3 defeats at Sixfields all year. It's also nearly 10 years since we last won there, with Jason Fowler's goal giving us our first win of what would become the promotion campaign. 3 of the 4 games in Northampton since have ended in draws, including last year's 0-0. We last beat them in August 2010 with a 3-0 win, again on the first day of the season - goals from Nicholson, Zebroski and Benyon
Oh and watch out for Bayo (and Jake Robinson, for that matter)

Thanks James, pressure of work and then a parents evening meant I wasn't able to get the thread up as early as hoped for.
Northampton certainly have a good home record and indeed don't concede many at home with Rochdale the last side to score there on 9th February while losing 3-1 and Cheltenham the last side to win there on 8th December and a draw a few months before that. Their away record is relatively poor with only a point gained more than us.
Akinfenwa is again their top scorer with a similar record to Howe so maybe a battle of the big men will decide this one?
We do have a degree of momentum that needs to maintained and although we haven't been able to further add to the squad, we probably have enough to get the remaining points we need and after two play offs campaigns, the sooner we can plan for next season the better. Team wise, I don't think they will be much change with McDonald looking likely to retain his place. The question is, will Bodin start for this one, with the only option being at the expense of either Benyon or Jarvis who both scored on Tuesday?

This is one of those games even more so when we are in the position we are, a point would be very welcome indeed. In fact if we got one then I’m sure we would all think it was a job well done and a point closer to safety.
What I saw for the first part of the first half in our last home game, was a team who could play football, could score goals and had the required fight to avoid the drop into the conference. So much is going to depend on how the team goes about trying to win this game the moment the game kicks-off. I would like to see us start as if we were the home team, go straight at them and try to put them on the back foot. Lets be honest many would expect this to be an easy home with for Northampton, but I think we are good enough to cause a major upset.
I would put out the same starting eleven, (well there will be one change and that is Nico back in) that way we do then have a good strong bench to make changes if and when they might be required. Get the ball into the box for fox in the box Benyon and encourage Jarvis to shoot at will and how knows we might just find ourselves in front. Should that happen we must not then end up playing too deep, doing that always results in goals being conceded.
I have a good feeling about this match, we can win it and just what would another three points do for our league position.

I came out in a pimply itchy rash yesterday and since I haven't eaten anything different to normal or changed detergents, and since there is no sore throat or temperature, the only possible explanation is that it is stress-related and down to becoming a Torquay United fan, and the consequent battle to remain in the League. I therefore demand at least a point tonight if only to keep me away from the doctor's surgery.
Never been to Northampton before; not for football nor for any other reason, so looking forward to a day out enjoying lots of shoemaking memorabilia as well as the match. Isn't the town more Rugby Union that football territory? Will Elliot Benyon do a George Best and bang in six goals against the Cobblers? Looking at the sides' current positions, probably not. I believe Northampton employ a long throw expert who aims for the giant Clive Platt and the huge Adebayo Akinfenwa and that a lot of goals result from the ensung six-yard box scrap, so it's going to be a tough evening for Pokey especially.

If it's contagious that's not necessarily good news for anybody travelling with you to Northampton today. Sadly your visit won't include cricket. I believe today's Northants warm-up game has been cancelled.

Warning for TUFC fans at tonights gameThe TFF has become aware that one of its fans has woken up this morning to discovery his face covered in pink spots. It is not known if this fan is in fact contagious and as a safe guard we suggest you give him a wide berth if you see him in the away end

Aye, that's me alright!!
To stop me from scratching I shall be driving Barton Downs along the M1 wearing boxing gloves. What could possibly go wrong?

It wasn't so bad - it could have ended up worse. But I have a nagging concern that a loss today might drag us back into it - we're still only 5 points clear (with of the sides below us having a game in hand), and I worry that if we lose, we could lose our new-found confidence from it, with some of our toughest games coming up

Those two wins last week look so important now and after today we still manage to maintain a five point gap to the dreaded two relegation berths. York for certain will be feeling the pressure at Rovers I wouldn't be surprised if they get a result mind you which would blow it all wide open once again. Anything from tonight would be a huge bonus we are not out of the woods yet by any means. In reality we just need to match those around and below us to see it out and one more win among our final six games will probably be enough though I would like to see another two, but its so important now to maintain this new found momentum. Its all in our own hands thank goodness.

Well who would have thought that, Torquay lose to a late goal again...........!! Must be about ten times in last 20 games!! Third match running Northampton have got a late one against us........
Accy played crap today had hardly any shots and scored late, easily done every team in the division does it bar us. Technically the team should give us late draws/wins in every game now to make up for this ridiculous run of late goals.

Not too disheartened with the result. I think it was probably our most difficult (on paper) fixture remaining as their home record is stronger than Gillingham. Onwards to a nice 3 points on Monday...

It would be good to read some match reports but sounds from the commentary that a partisan crowd managed to influence a weak referee who could have easily given Northampton a couple of reds. Pity that we couldn't hold out in the storm that followed but sounds like a good effort and a result against Bradford will put us back on track!
