Its a great end of the season in one way as every team near the bottom has been fighting so hard, but I wish at least two of them would have just gone quietly

Got a feeling about Dagenham. Caretaker manager, in poor form having previously thought they were safe, and today lost to a side down the bottom who were scrapping for their lives

Dagenham v York next week - if one side win then we are safe regardless, a draw would leave us in trouble as Dagenham have a better goal difference!
A point needed next week - Rovers have sold out and so will we - get your ticket now!

Rememeber Colchester away last game..............arghhhhhhhh Only too well, lightning doesn't strike twice does it? Perm any two from: Torquay.......52 pts -7...Home to Bristol Rovers <No Rene Howe>Plymouth......52 pts -8...Away to Rochdale York City.....52 pts -11..Away to Dagenham Dagenham......51 pts -6...Home to York Barnet........51 pts -10..Away to Nothampton ------------------------ AFC...........50 pts -23..Home to Fleetwood Aldershot.....48 pts -16..Away to Rotherham A club could be relegated on 52 points. That was a 1 out of 27 combinations, this time it is 2 out of 263 more or less.....

What an absolutely incredible season this has turned out to be. With the exception of Gillingham , Port Vale and perhaps Rotherham they are all a load of inconsistent garbage and that has been the problem and why 52 points may still not be enough to survive. Never thought the Daggres would be involved in this last day decider and Wimbledon have given themselves a pretty good fighting chance with that draw at Champions Gillingham, which I had predicted earlier in the day. Even a draw for us today would have left us hovering on the brink so to get only our fourth away win of the season in such important circumstances is almost unbelievable. Well done to the players and staff for sticking with when it could so easily have gone horribly wrong this week we would need a ridiculously bad set of results now to see us fail - far to close for comfort mind you.

Back home. Took 4hrs 55mins from Morecambe to Moreleigh. Made it to the pub for a welcome pint. A great couple of days, took in Scafell Pike and Blackpool Tower.
For a start I thought the following was absolutely superb and a credit to the club. Proper supporters who had made a long trip. Impressed with Simon Baker handing out the £5 vouchers as you entered the ground and then taking his place among us all cheering and shouting his head off. The team played well, winning many 50/50 balls. They had a verve about them and harried and worked throughout. First goal was fortunate but again it was the harassing which created the mistake in the first place. The sending off was just what we needed. The second half was more of the same with the Gulls playing well and if I had one criticism it was a tendancy to give the ball away more often than they needed to. The Yeoman goal was superb and the release of tension was almost palpable. Great performances from Brian Saah, yet again, and surely the man of the season, Aaron Downes and Lee Mansell but generally all played well. Unfortunately Bodin was not a big contributor in my opinion. I am sorry to say that Rene Howes booking was completely irresponsible. I was annoyed by this and he has let the team and supporters down. It was completely needless and we now face Gas without our top scorer. Perhaps he should have been substituted at 2-0 up. However, this was not going to spoil a great day. Although Morecambe is a poor town the supporters were good as gold, several wishing me a safe journey back. I am sure Wigstongull and the other Gulls supporters had a very positive experience. A good performance by a team which had the backing of raucous fans cheering their hearts out.

Lets all say a collective prayer and hope its Plymouth ! Really looking forward to some last day drama in front of what should be the largest crowd at Plainmoor for years.

Morning all, just seen the brief highlights......great own goal....... Good morning hullgull from a very bright and sunny Torbay. Not seen any highlights myself but have enjoyed reading the great match report put up by Sam. After the sending off followed by the own goal, I really felt we had got some decent luck for a change and a reward for all the work and effort put in by the players at the home game against Barnet. We could not have asked anymore of the players and getting back to back wins was not something I think we all thought was going to happen. When Howe got send off my first thoughts were in won’t matter that much now as at that point I think we all thought we were safe and the result of the final game would not matter at all. I would so loved to have put up a thread that we were staying up, but that late goal that Wimbledon scored ensured that for now was not possible and with Barnet winning its going to be a hell of a day next Saturday. The plain facts are we could lose against Rovers and still stay up, I would much rather be sitting where we are in the table than all the teams below us. We were so very close to being able to celebrate last night, but for me all that is happened is that it has been postponed until next weekend. I really can’t see us going down now and I can see a big party up at Plainmoor come 5.45pm with fans on the pitch carrying the players around on their shoulders. Our lads just need one more big effort as the best way to ensure our safety is to win the match and then it won’t matter one single bit what the other results are, if they work as hard as they did at home against Barnet, then we can win those three points and bring this season to an end. We can so close to having first division football being played in front of the new Bristow Bench, it was something I wanted to happen but that did not turn out to be the case and the last thing I would want to see is non league football being played in front of it instead. That’s not going to happen of that I’m sure, but I hope lessons have been learned from this season and action taken to try and avoid another season like this one. One thing I hope does not happen is we start getting posts on the TFF having a go at the members who thought we were going down and made posts that at times did come across as very negative. We have to be honest here and say while we all wanted nothing more than to hold onto our league status, it looked at times we were not going to be able to do that. So many TUFC fans were hurt and angry with our league position, but even the biggest doom and gloom merchants would never have wanted to have been proved right, they are after all fans of the club the same as we all are, just at times can let everything going on get on top of them. We should never let the events on and off the field divide us, we are and should always be on the same side, even if at times we see things differently or have differing points of views.

We should never let the events on and off the field divide us, we are and should always be on the same side, even if at times we see things differently or have differing points of views. That's how it should be. I think we have all had our concerns and hurt from this season but we have only ever spent three days in the relegation zone and survival has never been out of our hands. A good forum expresses all those differing points of views and while I have always rightly or wrongly put my relatively positive take on things, maybe the balance of the debate became too focused on the downside which can be off putting for others.
