So our Jugoslav moved on to Hereford. We discussed him here. www.torquayfans.boards.net/thread/5185/01-10-49-norwich-cityEddie Brown is a new name for me. Didn't stay and not sure where he went for the next three years, but finally ended up making his league debut for Aldershot at the start of the 1953/54 season. Over 4,000 for a reserve game? Those were the days.

What makes me smile about that 4,000 reserve match attendance is that it's simply described as "a very good crowd". Nothing more; nothing less.
A reference too to Richard Hill who has returned to the club to act as "trainer"; a marvellous old term that often covered a variety of roles and tasks. I guess that, over the years, we've played little attention to those who have worked in support of the manager. They'd constitute quite a list but were probably barely mentioned in dispatches.
That'll be Dick Graham in goal for Palace. People of my generation will remember him most vividly as the manager of Colchester when they beat Leeds in the early 1970s. Dick Graham died earlier this year aged ninety.
Babbacombe Garage as the county distributor of Aero Mobile Kiosks? I've a picture of a dodgy geezer - with a name like Alpine Joe - touring the streets flogging a mixture of legitimate goods, stolen stuff and all manner of black market rationed items.
