This is a tough away trip against one of the pre-season favourites who are gunning for promotion in only their second season in the football league. They have had a decent start with nine points from five games and currently sit in the play offs. Interestingly they are stuck in a sequence of alternatively winning and then losing a game since the beginning of the season and as they won at Tranmere on Tuesday, it would be good if this can continue at least for another game! This is only Fleetwood's third home game of the season.
After our win at Northampton, our away record is decent, maybe because there is more space to mount a counterattack which is how Chappell scored his goals previously. Our defence is starting to look very good after two clean sheets although I think the jury is still out on the left back position.
Team news is that both Bodin and reserve keeper Thompson are away on international duty but Poke may be able to hobble onto the bench? Despite not scoring since Northampton, I think the Ball/Hawley partnership is starting to look very good and am confident that it will soon bear fruit. The only other question is whether Lathrope will get a start after Harding has been substituted in two matches so far.
Fleetwood's record signing Jamille Matt scored a brace on Tuesday after a barren spell so will need to be watched. Midfielder Hughes and striker Ball are the other two to watch with all three of the aforementioned topping the goal charts with three each.

Been a little barren up front but promising signs that something is going to click, and with our defence now forming an understanding which gets better with every game and Bodin away on international duty I can see only one result ..... Fleetwood Town 0 Torquay United 4

Well their Ball could be out injured which should make listening a bit easier as otherwise I won't know which swear word to use when Ball scores. Parkin could come in to replace him, (their Ball not our Ball) whom I'm pretty sure got the ball in the back of the net when they came to Plainmoor last.
I see Poke is back in training so could make the bench for the first time this season.

rjdgull I suppose that is possible, though I'd stick with the two fully fit keepers and not bother taking Pokey on a long coach journey to Lancashire and back, when I doubt there is sufficient confidence in his fitness to play him, even as a sub. I'd leave him at home and let him play the full 90 minutes in the game he's earmarked for against Argyle on Tuesday. Hopefully he'll have no reaction to his injury and we can take it from there.

I thought I saw somewhere Thompson was on international duty this weekend? edit: www.irishfa.com/international/item/8539/northern-ireland-u19-squad-named/There it is I guess...though the Herald reckons he will be on the bench. Maybe the NI squad isnt meeting up till later?

Both Thompson's are on the bench! Craig is also in there along with Lathrope. Looks like Cruise is covering all 4 defensive positions.

Mind you the worst opening 20 minute stats in the entire football league once again with nine shots on our goal and three on target in the first 20 minutes, another slow start puts us on the back foot. Sorry Knilly this is just not good enough.
