Just imagine a group of Millwall Mods, all on their new Vespas bought on the HP from Motoreties up the Surrey Docks, riding in formation the length of the new M1 in the general direction of Haig Avenue, Southport. The mind boggles.
As for Torquay United, I like the “local boy” descriptions of both Ernie Pym and Graham Bond in our pen pictures. They certainly were!
Tommy Northcott, mind, is merely, “local”. Quite clearly no longer a boy.
