Burton started the season as one of the favourites for promotion but their form hasn't yet reflected that. The Brewers failed to win in September, with 3 consecutive league defeats followed by a 2-2 draw at home to Scunthorpe, along with a defeat in the Football League Trophy. Their form at the Pirelli Stadium in particular hasn't been strong - they have just 1 home win all season and haven't won there since 10th August against Rochdale, their first home game of the season
Nonetheless, they are dangerous opponents, attempting to regain some form having won their last 2 away games, including a win on Saturday at title contenders Chesterfield. Former Torquay striker Billy Kee missed that game after being sent off in their home defeat to Southend, so will return on Tuesday
Line-up vs Chesterfield:
Gk Jordan Pickford Def Phil Edwards Def Chris Hussey Def Ian Sharps Def Shane Cansdell-Sherriff Mid Lee Bell Mid Robbie Weir Mid Damien McCrory Mid Jimmy Phillips Mid Matt Palmer For Adam McGurk
Subs: Dean Lyness (Gk), Zander Diamond (Def), Marcus Harness (Mid), Jack Dyer (Mid), Rene Howe (For), Dominic Knowles (For), Michael Symes (For)
Head-to-head:
Burton wins: 5 Torquay wins: 5 Draws: 3
Burton wins at Pirelli: 2 Torquay wins at Pirelli: 3 Draws at Pirelli: 1
Last match: Burton 2-1 Torquay (Jarvis 43, Zola 9, Paterson 84), League Two, January 2013
Last Torquay win: Burton 1-4 Torquay (Stevens 7, Mansell 36, Richards 69, Howe 82, Atieno 87), League Two, March 2012

It's becoming rather difficult to get any enthusiasm going for matches nowadays! We had a scoreless draw at home against a poor Mansfield side and Burton had a great away win against the league leaders. On saying that, Mansfield had a good win at Chesterfield a few weeks ago. We are also without Pearce for this match, one of our main pieces in a rather shitty jigsaw. If I was a bookie it would of course be an odds on win for Burton!
The rather disturbing longer outlook of this is, that should we lose on Tuesday, if it weren't for the fact we are playing Portsmouth this Saturday, I think we would see our first sub two thousand gate!

If we Don't concede early then could get something out of this. I would like to see the same formation again with Cruise in for Pearce of course! Our luck had got to change at some point and this is a relatively happy hunting ground for us....

I'm sure Cruise will come in for Pearce. Too early for Mackenzie - it will be between him and Hutchings for the spare bench slot.
It was interesting that Knill softened a little on the formation on Saturday. Bodin was definitely "in the hole" in a 4-2-3-1 and then Craig had the luxury of playing in that role for about five minutes before the sending off. A brief glimpse, but promising nonetheless.
A "pushed up midfielder" is a bit different from a "slightly withdrawn striker". More of a 4-3-3 type 4-2-3-1 than a 4-4-2 type 4-2-3-1 if you see what I mean. Might give the wide men freer rein to attack.
I'd like to see Craig start and leave out one out of Bodin, Chappell, Hawley or Azeez. Doubt it will happen though.
The reserve friendly next week is turning into a bit of a "return of the zombies". Could see Poke, Mackenzie, Downes, Mozika and Harding all returning after lengthy absences.

With the quality in the Burton front line and on the bench combined with our weakened back line we should be getting a hammering this evening. Funny though when you least expect a result the opposite sometimes happens so I haven't given up all hope just yet. Heart 1-1 at best head 3-0 with Kee getting a brace just to rub salt into the wound.

Will be setting off for this game later.
Weather not too good rather wet and windy, but hopefully will clear later.
It is a fact that most of us would have put Rene down first on the team sheet last year and yet he only makes the bench at Burton.
Hopefully we can keep their attack quiet for a while and we can grab an against the run of play winner.
Usually enjoy the games here as their fans have always been quite friendly.
Will try to post a report later.

Having come off the bench a few minutes earlier, Rene (I never miss penalties) Howe steps up to the ball and... Well, you need to dream if you follow TUFC!

Team for tonight Rice Tonge oconnor cruise nicho Mansell McCourt Azeez Craig Bodin Hawley
7 subs from Thompson Mackenzie Lathrope Benyon Chappell Sullivan Mozika Cameron Mccallum
With the new additions it will be interesting to see who gets left out of the subs tonight I'm sure there will be some unhappy faces.

Rene not in the squad at all for Burton. Kee starts
I'm quite looking forward to this. Might as well make the most given that McCallum's arrival suggests this will be a one-off

Commentary team going on about Bodin in the free role. Surely he will play wide as he did for the five minutes after Craig came on on Saturday.
