That's a very simple black-and-white job from QPR. Not a hint of blue anywhere.
And what was it with football clubs and the gentry in those days? The Earl of Cottenham was QPR's president for the year.
Very clever references to Shepherd's Bush as in "Bush Telegraph" and "Beating Around The Bush". Also "Taking Stock" as in Alec Stock - I wonder how many times that was used over the years?
There's a nice little tribute to Don Mills, a former QPR player, and how he'd been signed by a manager from the same part of South Yorkshire. I imagine the pit in question was Maltby which is roughly between Rotherham and Doncaster.
Good news about transport to the forthcoming game at Port Vale. But what's this about Hanley? Hadn't Vale moved to Burslem by then?
Lovely small-print detail of reserve and other games including a fixture against Canterbury in the Seanglian League, another of those wonderfully-named competitions they used to have in and around London. It sounds vaguely classical - Jon may know - but it could equally be an amalgam of "SE" and "Anglian".
