thinking of those people who have lost someone and who will be sat there today wishing they could be here just for Christmas! keep an eye open for your friends and neighbors today, you'd be surprised how many people will be missing someone! have a merry Christmas everyone!

That poor teacher from Cockington Primary School who drowned rescuing his dog on Christmas Eve springs to mind. Father of two as well which really leaves you feeling for his family...

Unfortunately, that happens a lot and much as I love my dog, he would be on his own in that scenario....

dog vs man in any swimming event, the dog will win! I know it's difficult because your dog usually is a member of your family so it's only natural to try to save it but logic and common sense must prevail or lives are lost, it's almost Darwinian! I didn't start this thread to pay tribute to people who died saving their dogs, as sad as it is, I started it to pay tribute to our friends who recently lost s family member and how it's a very difficult time of the year! I was thinking of Carol mainly, not to mention my Mum who passed away 4 weeks ago!

Sorry to hear of your loss Aussie and it is a time of year for family which will mean thoughts will naturally turn to those who are recently departed. I know how Dave suffered with Carol and of course my heart really went out to him.
