Too late to ask Watford right back Dave Bewley for his recollections of the game as he died last March. However, he had a good innings, living to the ripe old age of 92, and had the distinction of playing against Stanley Matthews, although it seems that Stan did have to explain the nature of an 'exhibition game' to him.
