If the game happens, we'll be facing John Marquis, who has just signed for Northampton on loan until the end of the season

If the game happens, we'll be facing John Marquis, who has just signed for Northampton on loan until the end of the season Give me Marquis over the two young strikers we signed anyday. Definitely had some quality about him in the games I saw in December. Shame, but hopefully as he has only just joined he'll either not feature or not be on the right wavelength with his teammates just yet. Can only hope. I'm not unhappy with Stockley, O'Brien or Goodwin after the Wimbledon and Portsmouth showings, though. O'Brien struck me as quite similar to Marquis in the brief glimpse and Goodwin was excellent at Fratton Park. Stockley holds it up well and scored a nice header at Wimbledon. It ain't all bad in that department at the moment. Sounds as though their Captain centre half might be out with injury - Lee Collins - so let's hope they carry on shipping goals and we remain defensively as tight as we were at Fratton Park and Kingsmeadow.

I'm not unhappy with Stockley, O'Brien or Goodwin I think Stockley on top of his game is only 50% as good as Marquis - seems we've gone for quantity and Northampton have gone for quality (Yes I know they lost at home to Argyle last week!)- still only time will tell who is right.

Reckon we will finally have a window to play a match, only occasional showers forecast from now. Inspection, as expected mid afternoon. Stodgy, heavy pitch but playable I would like to think.

Does anybody know if covers were put over the pitch during the rain overnight? The forecast gave pretty accurate timings for the rain, so hopefully this match will go ahead. Must say, too many omens about this one. Their last game a loss to Argyle, our former manager now their assistant manager, stonger now than before the postponement, Marquis signed for them - a player we could have really done with and my belief they will recover to escape relegation. But hopefully not before this game is over. The players really need to be up for this. Wonder how Nicho will get on. Will Knill target him as a weak link? If the players did not get on with Knill, hopefully that will go in our favour. A 3-3 draw I rek.

The same as every manager in this league, Knill will certainly target Nico as the weakest link! There are some pretty hefty showers heading towards TQ1 this afternoon and if only one of them hits the game will be off!
Newport is off already...six on the bounce now I believe
