So many inaccuracies. We made the final of the Senior Cup after Oreston Rovers refused to come to Torquay to play the semi. No mention of our goalie having a strop and refusing to play in the final because his brother had not been picked. The title was not in our own hands. Exeter City Reserves helped us out by beating RN Barracks on the last Saturday. This is just picking out results from the Centenary History and making up the rest. Bad history. Trouble is people will believe it must be true.

Wrong about both withdrawn from the Senior Cup. Babbacombe went through to play Exeter City in the semis. Surprised no mention of the Coventry City game.

1913 - 1914 - last season before the carnage of the Great War and puts our current crisis in perspective and shows that football will be back. 1919 -1920 - The first season after the First World War which finished exactly 100 years ago and saw Torquay town struggle against Babbacombe.

1913 - 1914 - last season before the carnage of the Great War and puts our current crisis in perspective and shows that football will be back. 1919 -1920 - The first season after the First World War which finished exactly 100 years ago and saw Torquay town struggle against Babbacombe. There's even more of a parallel when you consider that whilst we shut up shop for the war effort the Football League carried on for another season; in Scotland the SFL carried on for the whole duration of the conflict. Premier League springs to mind.

1926-27 Season - A very interesting read In what was for us, a very pivotal season in our history, again playing in both the western and southern leagues but which saw us gain the title in the latter giving us the impetus to seek re-election into the football league with all the machinations that went with that. It meant we spent the next 80 years as a football league club with 2009 being the next season that saw us get back into the football league courtesy of that 2-0 win over Cambridge on a sunny day at Wembley covered on this forum - HERE
