On www.Torquayfans.com on a thread about the value of Luke Young, I posted some rough figures linked to transfer fees paid and in terms of todays values, who would be our record transfer fee. I used this site, which perhaps is not especially accurate - or may be is. I don't know. www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1633409/Historic-inflation-calculator-value-money-changed-1900.htmlOn the basis of this, the £25,000 we paid Exeter, for Vince O'Keefe, in around 1980, in today's terms, is worth more than the £75,000 paid for Leon Constantine in 2004. It would make the £600,000 we received in 1998, for Rodney Jack, worth around £953,000 today. In 1990, we paid £60,000 for Wes Saunders, which at around £130,000 in today's terms, probably represents our 'biggest' outlay for a player. Is there somewhere where a list of all our transfer fees paid and received can be accessed? It would be interesting to list the record fees paid/received in terms of the actual amounts against the fees paid/received in 'today's' terms. My feeling is that Wes Saunders, in today's terms, is our record transfer fee, with Rodney Jack our record sale (in both real and today terms).
