It feels slightly weird to be playing on a Sunday but at least we go into this game after a good performance and a score to settle after our previous televised match! Once again we are a defender down but at least Richards won't be called to fill that particular gap and Pearce is probably our strongest replacement! Doubtful that Hargreaves will make any other changes unless injury dictates otherwise!
Alfreton are now 7 points adrift from safety and although coming up with a few wins have an almighty struggle to stay in this league. Our old friend Hawley is joint top scorer with 5 but will find Pearce a different proposition this time around! A home win is desperately needed to make up lost ground! COYY

Good Luck to one and all today- a fine performance and decent result could kick-start things for the second part of the season.

Not there today as after the festivities I am busy preparing my work for next week, which as usual after Christmas / New Year will be a busy one.
A pity really as I fancy a 6-0 today to put us in 6th place and on the brink of the play-offs at end of play today.
I hope the excitement of a promotion challenge doesn't distract the players from the FA Trophy though. You can get into the habit of winning and a run in the Trophy would boost confidence, if not our points tally.
As Barton pointed out if we did make the play-offs we would have to be on a good run of form going into them, and could well be considered favourites. Although after Boxing Day we probably wouldn't have fancied ourselves against Bristol Rovers, on New Years Day it was clear they are nothing to fear, and as they know in their hearts that Benyon's 'equaliser' was a legitimate goal at Plainmoor and that it was never a penalty at the Mem, we would probably go into a tie with the psychological advantage.

Be prepared for the possibility of a relegation dog fight in 2015, on form we are poor.

A bitter pill to swallow. The downfall was missing a hatful of chances, particularly in the second half. They hadn't really threatened our goal and then a worldly shot straight in the top right corner that Seabright could only Palm onto the post and in.
I think Ajala is one of the best players in the side and works his socks off week in, week out. Could have had a hat trick on another day but not passing to Bowman a few minutes earlier to them scoring with the goal at his mercy was a bad mistake....

Now who said they fancy 6-0? 3 games undefeated now. Just have to keep this run going.
