Chris,
After seeing the picture you took of the crowd (4th picture down) I guess you witnessed the commotion with a supporter and Danny Stevens Mother and Brother??

Cheers Chris and Dave. Tried the link with no sucess - will speak to you Dave on Saturday. All I wanted to scan was an article in todays HE about the Fontwell Four and their days at the races. Well in all fairness that was it.

Chris, After seeing the picture you took of the crowd (4th picture down) I guess you witnessed the commotion with a supporter and Danny Stevens Mother and Brother?? Yes I certainly did witness it. I was standing next to the bloke who started it. One of those occasions when you get a fan who thinks they can say anything because they've paid money to watch the game and why its sometimes daft for family members to watch their beloved son among such fans. I don't think the bloke actually meant a huge amount of offence by saying that he was too lightweight to be a footballer. The sensitive brother turned around to give him a look and the bloke followed it up with "what the F are you looking at?" which lit the fuse. If I'd been the bloke I would've have been far more scared of Mrs Stevens who despite being compact looked like she packs a mean left hook.

I just think the bloke, after he had made his point (which he was entitled to) once, didn't need to labour that point over and over again. Poetic justice for the Stevens family when Danny slotted the equaliser.

;D I don't remember a commotion between Danny Stevens' family and another fan. And I was evidently quite close to it...

Who was the Torquay fan, in a car, who stopped to ask me directions near the ground? It was lucky I'd been the previous season...
