Will the game go ahead as I see some rain is forecasted for today and tomorrow? Rain check time! Rain yesterday evening and this morning but clearing by around 11am. Then dry until the match so hopefully will go ahead although light rain forecast during the match and heavy rain from 5pm according to the MET office which should not impact on matters....

Report from the club this morning that the pitch is ok, no inspection is needed and the game is on. Good news indeed. Really looking forward to this one with lots more options for Nico. Would like to see Ajala start on the right wing in place of Exodus. I would expect to maybe see all four strikers during the course of the game but will be interesting to see the two that will start - Wright and Marsh possibly favourites to start?

If the big escape is going to happen it has got to start quite soon. We desperately need a good result today!

1 0 Gateshead hmm Ryan bowman It was always going to be a question of us having to score at least two with the inevitable Bowman goal. Those are the rules.

I think that figure is a forecast one for next season in the decline of our club enough to make you weep what's going on we are nailed on relegation fodder but it was obvious months ago

I shall be toasting Mr Andy Drury of Eastleigh who scored in 90 + 2 against Boreham Wood (FT 1 - 1) to leave us 9 points adrift (including the one point for a shocking GD) - if he hadn't we'd be 11 points from safety.
The game, not bad first half, poor second.

First half we were pretty good but their second goal after the break broke us. Lots of possession and effort but very little in terms of scoring chances, we just couldn't seem to get it together where it mattered in the box. No doubts now, all the cards have been played and we are down and maybe out. Depressing times indeed.

I think taking Marsh and Wright off after 52 minutes was too early as they are our best strikers and were starting to cause problems, particularly towards the end of the first half. Lack of cutting edge today, poor defending gifted Gateshead who did not have to do much. Ref certainly didn't favour us today. Got a throw in wrong which led to a corner and then another which conceded the goal. Poor defending yes but Gateshead had threatened very little prior to that. I thought Ben Clark did very well in the centre of defence for them - my man of the match

Well it's getting too the stage where premier league south preparation is needed,Nicholson was never the man for the job now and isn't the man when we are officially relegated, for that appointment alone the board are culpable. In the season from hell it was really the biggest decision they had to get right and they have failed dismally with his appointment a big cock up
