This morning at Paignton Green along with 1000 (Yes, one thousand) other Santas and little Elfs completed 2 miles worth of track, wich consisted of running along the beach, run into Paignton town and back along the beach to the finish line.
Palm 105.5 were there to promote the run along with BBC News Cameras and Herald Express along with various other media people wanting to speak to Santas and cameras going off.
Can I say a big thank you to everyone who kindly sponsored me in the race and the totol money donated by you was: [glow=red,2,300]£314.74[/glow]
I`ll make a post with all the people who sponsored me, thanks to all the people on this forum who sponsored me , the Torquay United players, Paul Buckle, K.Vesey, S.North, Directors.
The money raised will be going to `Wish Upon a Star` foundation which takes children with serious and lifetime illnesses to Lapland to see Father Christmas and make thier dreams come true.
So thanks to everyone who donated the money is is a terrific amount of money and hopefully I hope to rasie the same or even more next year.

A big well done Joe, thats a great amount of money to raise and it will make so many happy. I know I own you £5 mate, the money is safe ;D I'll give it to you the next time I see you.

Sorry about that DG8P, post is corrected. The story about Paul Buckle paying me £10.01 is that I asked him before the game, the day before Toddy announced he had luckemia and he said to speak to him after the game. After he finished talking to Dave Thomas and the BBC Radio people I asked him about the sponsorship and he put his hand in his pocket, I held my hand out and he dropped a penny in my hand and Paul laughed his head about it and I was a bit embaressed as he did it in front of all the players in the changing rooms and he said he was only joking and gave me a tnner. I thought it was pretty funny and thought I might as well put the count the penny aswell. Evey penny counts really. About the name dropping I just wanted to thank everyone who sponsored me and I sorted the names into different catogories, in players, directors, and fans. I have collected nealry all the money and a few of the players have forgotten (I wont name names) and I`ll be phoning them soon to remind them *cough* Benyon *cough*. Sorry about the photos there Dave and Merse I`ll try and to it again. Could I perhaps send them to you by email as I cant seem to get it to work for me please Uncle Dave. |

Joe the way you have scanned those photos mate, is not the way to do it, it would take me a weekend to redo them Joe, unless you can sent me digital files of the photos, then I will wait until I see you next and borrow the photos and do it that way.
