Well I expect writing this I will lay myself open for some abuse from the anti-smokers, not the non-smokers as they are a different breed.
You see someone like me enjoys smoking and has no wish or desire for my habit to effect anyone else. I would never ask or want to smoke in your house, I don't even want to stand near you when I have one, no I'm happy to be on my own and as far away from all non-smokers.
I know the risks and I'm happy to except them, I hear and listen how the likes of me cost the NHS one and a half billion pounds a year. Shame they never broadcast that I and my fellow smokers pay in eleven billion in taxes. You see I believe we should get priority treatment in hospital, why? because we are an investment, they should be saying get him fixed up and back out there paying more tax on his habit.
I'm not welcome in pubs anymore, no real problem for me as I don't drink very often anyway, just a shame all those who shouted the loudest about having smoke free pubs, do not support their local pubs and now over six everyday are closing down.
I even now have to have silly pictures on my cigarette packets, sorry but they make me laugh and I believe I could make a fortune making dummy empty packets that would last forever, so those who do not like the pictures could put their cigarettes in.
Not content with making us smokers feel like we are some sort of second class citizen, now all cigarettes will have to be hidden underneath the counters, they say so kids don't see them, but the shop keepers know the law and should not sell to under 18's anyway.
Yet drink that causes people to go out and really harm Innocent people and some drunks to get in their cars and kill others, will still be on display. The drug dealers will still be on the streets selling to young children, who will end up in a life of crime, to fund their habit.
Yet I do not rob anyone , or steal to fund my habit, but still the likes of me, who will not harm anyone else is hounded and seem as some lowlife by the real anti- smokers. I do wonder at times how holly the lives are of those who shout against people like me really are , do they go out of their way to help others? are they 100% honest in all they do? I somehow think not, yet they feel they had the right to point their finger at me.
The next thing coming will be that us smokers will have to walk around in orange jumpsuits, or be taken to the village green every lunchtime for our ten lashes, maybe they will bring back the stocks, then you can really show us just what you feel about us, get some rotten eggs etc to throw in our faces.
Pubs should have had the choice, but they did not get it, I still have one and I promise all anti-smokers I will never be near you, so back off and start looking at those who really do harm others and the world we live in.
