New Investors on the horizon?

Let's hope that's an sign of some impending good news. On the other hand you have to bear in mind other factors such as the Board agreeing to meet the TUST on a monthly basis, and some of the more well known TUST militants spread across the Forums who use the majority of their posts to attack the current ownrship, have noticeably eased off significantly recently. That's not intended to cause alarm and say that these new 'investors' are currently hiding behind their Guardians, and when they lower them we'll see that it's the TUST.....but there are some worrying indications that fans opposed to TUST ownership view with some concern

The latest developments come at an important time for Phillips and his board.

Not only are they under constant financial pressures, but they are in exploratory talks with a new set of potential owner-investors.

If TUST do manage to rescue our ailing Club, then I can see a role for Alpine if they were ever then able to find a private investor after takeover a la York City. Board Member for TUSTXIT. Got his name written all over it. Alpine - The David Davis of the Gulls faithful.

I would hope that the ACTUAL SELLING PRICE for the club is £1 - the same as it was last time.

Other than a long-term land swap dream, there is not a profit stream to "buy".

The money needed to be put in should not be payment for the shares but new NEW SHARE CAPITAL.

We must give the club to people who capitalise the club not to people who just lend the club some money.

Any need for me to broker TUSTXIT thankfully never materialised, and thanks to the loud and clear message delivered via the Pre-share issue, it most likely never will. Although some help might soon be required on deciding between the embarrassment of riches we're faced with when choosing between a good handful of high calibre candidates to take over from King Kev on a permanent basis.

It is clearly trying the patience of a number of fans, but not just anyone can be slotted in and help deliver the sustainable success that we're working towards. There will be the quick fix merchants who would quite happily preside over the team if G.I were willing to buy success, but that's not a model we intend following, particularly bearing in mind the words of new Guiseley manager, Paul Cox, who has labelled the National League the toughest in Europe to get out of via a promotion place   link - Cox's Guiseley Ambition. I do wonder whether the U.K will get out of Europe before Guiseley get promoted out of the National League ?


But it was only while reading  of the latest shenanigans surrounding York City, and with the need, like the rest of us to pass the time until a suitable replacement for King Kev is announced, that I began to speculate as to which club has had the misfortune to be lumbered with the most disastrous Supporters Trust ?. Thankfully it isn't us, as we've always had the good sense to keep them well away from the levers of power. York City have been less fortunate, and even today their Trust retains 25% of the shares although that could well be reduced to 0% in coming years.

And so, at the end of last month it was with disappointment, but no great surprise, to learn that York City Supporters Trust is as bad as ever:

It's a pity to see York City Trust in such a bad way, and the barely concealed infighting will surely do nothing to attract new members. Not that things are anywhere near as bad as they got with Stockport County Supporters Trust which was so hated by the clubs fans that it changed it's name to try and disguise it's 'Trust' status. The trust changed its name to the Supporters' Co-operative after the trust came under heavy criticism from Stockport County fans'
