Wallace (Wally) Clark was a winger born in Jarrow in 1896. He made 77 league appearances between 1919 and 1927 for Middlesbrough, Leeds, Birmingham, Coventry and Barrow.
The record books say that he signed for Torquay and made three appearances for United in the 1927-28 season. The record books are wrong. He never signed for nor appeared for TUFC.
