Liquidation and GI - as likely as Donald Trump becoming the 45th President? ! In shock as it looks like Trump is on the cusp of winning. Hilary just conceded. Cannot believe this, what will it mean?

Dread to think. Not interested particularly in an analysis of why having heard the voting demographics, but very concerned for the 'what now' for the world. Flo's take on it as someone living there in a swing State interests me, though.

Thanks for that, Flo. It is hard to understand from a distance as he seems such a loose cannon, but every perspective helps. The anti-Hillary aspect is certainly quite clear in how it may have contributed.

One of the few great things about the political side of the US is that most citizens regard voting as a civic duty, even in a contests like this where neither candidate was particularly liked. There is very little of the voter apathy so prevalent in the UK. US election turnout 2016 = estimated to be 55.6% UK election turnout 2015 = 66.1% The UK turnout has only fallen below 60% once in living memory (2001 - 59.4%) US turnout hasn't been above 60% since 1968, even falling below 50% in 1996.

Maybe it's swing state status aids that. Would make sense.
