This is not intended to be a defeatist thread just wondering what people think as Its looking increasingly likely now that we will be playing in the league below. Without a single player contracted after the last day of this season and owners who have no interest in the football club I fear we will plummet even further.
Is there honestly any point in trying fight the drop?
Is it just delaying the inevitable?

Is there honestly any point in trying fight the drop? Is it just delaying the inevitable? As you say Pete, "I feel we will plummet", staying up is our best chance of not playing at Homers Heath. I just wish someone would give the order to light the torches and sharpen them pitchforks...

I think we already know the answer to that. At present we are a full time club with a part time budget; as it is we cannot compete against part time clubs in this division. Unless there is substantial investment we will either be southern league or extinct in the next few years. The fact that no players are contracted beyond the last day of the season doesn't greatly worry me because this has been the worst TUFC squad in history.

The next lot running out on the pitch will be butchers bakers and frigging candle stick makers

I think we'll struggle to attract quality players and I can't see Sparkes, Williams, Harrad or Young staying.
We will have to persuade Reid, Richards,Verma etc. to stay and look at what is local; Rice, Tyler Harvey, Ben Gerring et al.
I guess we could be relegated before our next home game...
I of course stand to be corrected...
Interesting to see what season ticket prices will be next year and what sort of crowd we'll get (which I think will be pretty good for the Conference South).

I´ll be at Plainmoor for the game against Braintree. I can´t see us getting much out of the next two away games so I hope I don´t experience our relegation after the game against Braintree.

If we had owners committed to future of the club then there is a lot that can be done. We could stay full time and recruit a management team that is proven at this level and given the resources to put together a team of quality players. We could go part time and move the training base to somewhere like Bristol or Birmingham and get the pick of top level part time players. Unfortunately I am not at all reassured by what has happened so far as regards GI's intentions towards the club. It must be remembered that they walked away once before and only became reluctant owners thanks to Pete Masters intervention. All that does not bode well for the future.

The whole outfit is just a shambolic mess - the way the renegades are ruining things there will be nothing left to covet soon - there is not much life and soul left in the decaying corpse of TUFC!

Richards out for the season. FFS - Its a possibility that we could pick up three or four injuries and suspensions. What then I ask myself. A complete and utter balls up I would love to know who put the stop on signings, nothing has come from the club about this travesty in any respect - will it ever? Things are getting desperate on the player front and it could get an awful lot worse.

Richards out for the season. Option of Verma dropping into the back four now gone. Looks like Lee RB, Gallifuoco CB, Hancox and Nicholson on the bench. I wonder what penance Nico would have to pay in return for being allowed to "strengthen" our squad by recalling Gerring and Duke.

Does Robin Stubbs still own a pair of boots?
