I'm not Ghenghis Khan says Calrke Osborne. www.devonlive.com/exclusive-big-interview-torquay-united-owner-clarke-osborne-says-i-m-not-genghis-khan/story-30294613-detail/story.htmlRather more open in this interview but do we actually believe him? What a massive miscalculation to ignore the fans for so long though he still does not address why no funds were released for squad strengthening at a crucial time. This was the point when he lost me and many others for certain. So much damage has been done even if he is actually sincere in what he says I'm not sure its repairable unless his actions clearly demonstrate intent post North Ferriby. Not sure what the future would hold it does happen that GI fail to get what they want and walk away. Whilst I totally understand the concept and the absolute necessity of creating other revenue streams fans need concrete assurances and regular communication and dialogue if he is to win his argument. Up until now its been a very closed clandestine group unwilling to reveal the full facts to the people that really matter if he genuinely wants to move the club in the right direction. He really needs to try and understand football fans physique but not sure what he can do now to heal the damage done.

I don't believe him. You can only keep promising these projects and not delivering before you end up with zero credibility. Only now with a concerted campaign against him where his objectives are in danger of being thwarted is he bothering to engage....
Previously said there are in it for the long term whether at Plainmoor or elsewhere but now Plainmoor is not sustainable. It has always been about the freehold and doing a deal. Their deals are generally not advantageous for the Sports Club involved. The Emperor has no clothes!

Me neither. www.gazetteandherald.co.uk/sport/15206034._No_new_home_for_Robins_this_season___admits_Russell/?ref=rl&lp=4"Gaming International Limited, the owners of the Abbey Stadium site, have not responded to approaches about the stadium delay from the Swindon Advertiser". The above is the latest I have seen regarding the stadium at Swindon from their local media. Osborne appears to be re-hashing the Bill Glass video interview earlier linked on here that predates the above link. Swindon readers would be aware of that. If the HE really wanted to probe - which it clearly appears to have no desire to - mention of Bristol, Reading and Milton Keynes would have made sense.

There is a massive schism now between owners and fans of TUFC and some balanced reporting is advisable to say the least but we are not getting it

It is a fact that GI didn't want Speedway to remain at the Abbey Stadium. It was the community and local authority who ensured they changed their mind on this. I don't know if anyone wants press links to this, but there are bloody loads of them. After some of the houses were built around Abbey Stadium, Osborne even went to the local press and said some of the homeowners now didn't want the speedway, to justify their position, before the local community got behind keeping the sport there. GI even, in 2006, said Swindon Speedway could share at Reading. Which they then demolished in 2008 and didn't replace.
To Dave Thomas, who asks not one single probing question about his track record, he states "And do you think that the Council and the Mayor will just say: 'Yes fine, go ahead Clarke – off you go and help yourself'? No, of course not". Help yourself to what, Clarke? What are you getting at, because DT sure as hell didn't ask. Obviously it's very sad to hear he feels a bit deflated at the moment. It seems like we only ever hear from them when fans raise the issue of the freehold via either the proper media or petition. Anyone else noticed that?
