He was awesome at Wrexham, out of position.

midlandstufc I don't think most will mind too much if Kev has got this wrong and GG goes on to do really well at Dover. He has got a bit of versatility on his side, but as the fact that we were in the relegation scrap last season suggests, awesome performances from anyone were few and far between. Hopefully some of the new lads will be in awesome form near the end of August for you to witness in the game against Solihull .

James Gray; umm looks good. He's got a shot at making the squad this season. Good pedigree with Northern Ireland U21's and as a young man at Middlesbrough.

midlandstufc Exactly . King Kev always tells us he learns a lot more when we're rubbish and lose. Tonight will have been a fruitful fact finding mission for him, providing all sorts of useful information that will be the basis for our successful season ahead.

For once I agree with you Simon. Most of those players were 1st team squad. It was a total shambles. See my comments on match report. Don't listen to Alpine. Who's he kidding? Was he there? I was. Totally disorganised. I couldn't find one positive. These players are no better than the ones they've replaced. My optimism for the coming season has totally evaporated. In my 70 years watching Torquay United I have never seen such a pathetic performance.

It's merely an early pre-season friendly. Furthermore, and quite oddly for an early pre-season friendly, those same players played 48 hours before.
Still slightly concerned regarding the recruitment of the 'guaranteed goals' striker and right winger, albeit I see it is still a left winger we are after. It would be nice if they could gel with their squad during pre-season like free-scoring Williams has at Bromley. If they are to be loanees, however, it would be the norm for them to still be at their parent clubs at this stage.

Whats new? Pre-season has always been this way - disjointed and unpredictable. If you even have the slightest bit of football knowledge and common sense you would perhaps understand that Its all about getting players match fit and developing understandings not meaningless results - that doesn't happen overnight. The manager has had to virtually rebuild from scratch and I have no doubt we will have a better season than we have had the last two. Whether we can get near the sharp end is another matter. The negativity displayed both here and on other social media and forums is totally depressing. When there's something to genuinely moan and groan about I will no doubt add some hopefully constructive criticism.

Nobody would care about losing a game as long as players are seen to give their all. Last night's performance was abysmal - gutless, lethargic and frankly down right pitiful . THAT is the sad reality.

THAT is the sad reality. Nope - not for me I would be more worried if they had given their all and lost badly to a lower ranked side. Lets start moaning when the real stuff starts and when we under perform. Learned a very long time ago not to bother with pre season friendlies and usually carefully choose just one or maybe two at the most. I certainly wouldn't have traveled to Tiverton for that meaningless non event but everyone to their own I guess.

Oh - Tranmere whopped a lower opposition team 11-0 today. No doubt Tranmere fans are thinking they are going to have a poor season!
